2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 17. Ben Wentzler (Oregon State)

WetzlerOregonStateCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 17 on our countdown is Oregon State senior Ben Wentzler from Clackamas, Oregon where he attended Clackamas High School. He had a career high school record of 28-3 with five saves, 342 strikeouts, 53 walks, 25 earned runs and a 0.87 ERA in 201 1/3 innings pitched. He went 12-0 his senior year, finishing with four saves and a 0.32 ERA. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and selected as the Louisville Slugger Player of the Year, was an All-American and participated in the Oregon 6A-5A All-Star series. 2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 18. Bradley Zimmer (San Francisco)

Number 18 on our countdown is San Francisco junior outfielder Bradley Zimmer. The La Jolla, California native attended La Jolla High School. 2014 Top 100 Countdown: 21. James Kaprielian (UCLA)

KaprielianCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 21 on our countdown is UCLA sophomore RHP James Kaprielian (UCLA). He was a three-year varsity baseball letterwinner at Beckman High School (Irvine, Calif.) under head coach Kevin Lavelle where he posted a career record of 33-3 with a 0.96 ERA, 250 strikeouts and 23 complete games. In his senior campaign, he went 12-2 with a 0.84 ERA, striking out 112 batters in 83.1 innings pitched and recording 10 saves. 2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 25. JD Davis (Cal State Fullerton)

JDDavisplateCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 25 on our countdown is Cal State Fullerton junior first baseman and RHP JD Davis. The Elk Grove High School native was a four-year letter winner at Elk Grove High School. He was a two time All-American selection in his junior and senior year with outstanding campaigns which he hit .486 batting average with 8 homers, 60 RBI, 1.80 ERA, 91 strikeouts as a junior and a .505 batting average, 9 homers, 45 RBI, 1.56 ERA, 70 strikeouts. 2014 CBD Top 100 Countdown: 27. Brett Graves (Missouri)

BrettGravesMissouriCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!

Number 27 on our countdown is junior RHP Brett Graves from Missouri. The St. Charles, Missouri native attended Francis Howell High School where he was a three time all-state selection. As a senior, he was named First Team Louisville Slugger All-American and All-Metro Player of the Year in St. Louis after going 9-1 with a 1.95 ERA and 70 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .441 with six home runs and 35 RBI as the Vikings leadoff hitter. He was selected in the 26th round by the hometown St. Louis Cardinals but decided to head to Missouri.
