Player of the Week: Nick Campbell (Bryant), Little Falls

Nick Campbell batted .375 (9-for-24) and compiled a .531 on-base percentage in eight games for the Miners last week. Campbell scored a team-high seven runs, drove in five runs, drew eight walks and tallied three extra-base hits. He reached base via hit or walk in seven of eight contests and he had three multi-hit and two multi-walk games. The Raynham, Mass., native had his best game against Amsterdam on July 5. He was 2-for-4 with three RBI, two walks, two stolen bases, one double, one triple and one run scored as Little Falls won, 11-5. Continue reading

NYCBL Players of the Week for June 29th

EASTERN DIVISION PLAYER/PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Player of the Week: Mike Spina (Cincinnati), Amsterdam

Mike Spina batted .500 (8-for-16) as the Mohawks took over first place in the Eastern Division. Spina bashed three home runs, drove in seven runs, recorded three doubles, walked four times and posted a 1.250 slugging percentage. The 2008 Minnesota Twins draft pick (Round 45) had at least one hit and one RBI in all five of Amsterdam’s games. He homered in his first three games of the week. Through nine contests
with the Mohawks, Spina is batting a team-high .480.

Pitcher of the Week: Sean Lucas (Virginia), Saratoga
Sean Lucas is the second-straight reliever to win the Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week award. He went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances for Saratoga. Lucas allowed two hits in three and two-thirds innings pitched, walked one and struck out five. He threw two scoreless frames against Little Falls on June 25 and struck out four. The Fishkill, N.Y., native held Bennington scoreless in one and two-thirds

NYCBL Players of the Week for June 22nd

NYCBL East Division Player of the Week: Mark Onorati (Manhattan), Amsterdam
Mark Onorati batted .500 (8-for-16) and drove in a league-high 11 runs in four games for the Mohawks. He smashed two home runs, scored five runs, stole two bases, collected 15 total bases and recorded a .939 slugging percentage. Onorati had three multi-hit and four multi-RBI games. He tallied at least one hit in all four games and homered in back-to-back contests against Glens Falls and Bennington. Onorati currently leads the league with 16 runs scored and 15 RBI.
