College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2014 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be adding players day-by-day until we get to number one!
Number 27 on our countdown is junior RHP Brett Graves from Missouri. The St. Charles, Missouri native attended Francis Howell High School where he was a three time all-state selection. As a senior, he was named First Team Louisville Slugger All-American and All-Metro Player of the Year in St. Louis after going 9-1 with a 1.95 ERA and 70 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .441 with six home runs and 35 RBI as the Vikings leadoff hitter. He was selected in the 26th round by the hometown St. Louis Cardinals but decided to head to Missouri. Today, we continue the countdown at number 35 with Hawaii left-handed pitcher Scott Squier. The Phoenix, Arizona native attended Greenway High School where he earned Arizona all-state honors in ‘10 and ‘11 while being named to all-Region team in in ‘10 and ‘11 and 2011 league Pitcher of the Year. We continue the countdown today with number 41 with Stanford junior infielder Alex Blandino. The Palo Alto, California native attended St. Francis High School where he was a four year letter winner. He won several awards as a senior including being named as the Cal-Hi Sports Player of the Year, San Jose Mercury News Baseball Player of the Year, Palo Alto Daily News Baseball Player of the Year, Rawlings Golden Glove, and an all-state performer. He was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the 38th round but decided to stay home and go to Stanford. Continue reading
We continue the countdown today with number 48, Bryant RHP Kyle Wilcox. In his freshman campaign with the Bulldogs, Wilcox proved that he had what it took to perform at the Division 1 level. With a fastball that topped out at 97 mph during 2013, the right hander quickly became a player of interest within the NEC. Wilcox appeared in 15 games out of the bullpen for the Black and Gold, throwing in 13 innings while posting a 6.23 ERA. Despite starting off shaky in his first appearance, the freshman responded with countless scoreless innings holding opponents to a .269 average. Continue reading
We continue the countdown today with number 49, Virginia LHP Nathan Kirby. In a stellar freshman campaign with the Cavaliers, Kirby was fourth on the staff by appearing in 24 games with 32.2 innings pitched. During the 2013 season the south paw pitched to a 4-1 record posting a 6.06 ERA and showed great command of the zone only allowing 13 walks the entire season. Kirby had the opportunity to start in two games but found success coming out of the bullpen for the Cavaliers, throwing countless shutout innings in 2013. Continue reading

We continue the list today at number 84 with Washington State outfielder Ben Roberts. After redshirting his freshman season for the Cougars, Roberts was excited to get on the field for Washington States 2013 regular season. Despite his excitement, Roberts ended his first season with the Cougars in mediocre fashion. Continue reading
The NECBL held their All-Star game on Sunday evening with the Eastern Division winning a 2-1 contest as each pitcher tossed an inning while most batters got two at-bats. Here are some of the players that stuck out for me on the day. I usually can’t make a good read on hitters by seeing them only one or two times so this usually will focus on the pitchers.
