2013 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game Rosters Announced

2013CCBLASGSOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – The participants for the 2013 Friendly’s Cape League All-Star game were unveiled Saturday morning, July 20, at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Cape Cod Baseball League Commissioner Paul Galop announced the two 25-man rosters, which were chosen by the managers of the 10 Cape League teams. Northwoods League continues to Grow

NorthwoodsLeagueThe Northwoods League was founded in 1994 by Dick Radatz Jr. the son of former major leaguer Dick Radatz. The league has flourished in its 19 years of existence. The league has a much different structure when compared to the Cape Cod Baseball League as they serve alcohol, charge admission, and act as a minor league type league in terms of marketing. Cape Cod Baseball League to have 9 Games Televised

CCBLLogo.jpgHYANNIS, Mass. – A nine-game package of Cape Cod Baseball League games begins at 6:00pm ET Thursday when FOX College Sports beams the Yarmouth-Dennis at Hyannis game from McKeon Park to a national television audience.

FOX College Sports Atlantic and USA World Events are producing the games in cooperation with the Cape League. All 10 Cape League teams will be seen at least once on FOX College Sports Atlantic. Continue reading

TCU adds Zach Etheredge to Coaching Staff

TCULogoFORT WORTH – TCU head coach Jim Schlossnagle has announced the addition of Zach Etheredge to the coaching staff. He will take over as the volunteer assistant.

“We are excited to add Zach to our coaching staff,” said Schlossnagle. “He will bring a tremendous amount of energy to our program and is a proven developer of players, especially at the catching position.” Continue reading

We continue the countdown today at number 59 with Kentucky junior RHP Trevor Gott. The Lexington, Kentucky native attended Tates Creek High School where he was a five year letter winner under coach Dom Fucci. As a senior, he posted a 6-0 record and a 1.12 ERA with 76 strikeouts in 47.1 innings. He was named all-state as a junior and senior, earning regional player of the year accolades while being named first-team all-city for three seasons. Continue reading

Top 100 Countdown: 69. Dylan Covey (San Diego)

DylanCoveySmallCollege Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2013 college baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be counting down the players day-by-day until we reach number 1.

Number 69 in our countdown is San Diego junior RHP Dylan Covey from Pasadena, California attending Maranatha High School. He was a beast in high school posting a 0.40 ERA with 138 strikeouts in 70.2 innings of work. He struck out 14 batters in two separate games while striking out double digit batters on nine different occasions. He was named an AFLAC All-American, the 2010 Gatorade State Player of the Year in California and was a Baseball America first-team All-American. The Milwaukee Brewers picked him with the 14th overall selection in the 2010 MLB Draft but he decided to head to San Diego as it was discovered during his physical that he was suffering from diabetes.

Checking in at number 78 is Kent State junior RHP Tyler Skulina. The 6’6 235 pound righty hails from Strongsville, Ohio and attended Walsh Jesuit High School. He went a perfect 26-0 in his high school career while being named a first team All-American in 2009 and honorable mention in 2010. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 46th round but decided to head to the University of Virginia. Continue reading
