College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2012 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 86 with Oregon sophomore RHP Ryon Healy. The 6’5” 215 pound right-handed pitcher out of West Hills, California was an All-State player at Crespi Carmelite High School. DURHAM, N.C.–The Southeastern Conference, which has produced college baseball’s last three national champions, dominated Baseball America’s top prospects lists for 20 college summer leagues and Team USA, which have been released at BaseballAmerica.com. The SEC leads all conferences with 24 players on the lists, followed by the Pacific-12 (22 players), the Big 12 (18 players) and the Atlantic Coast (17). We continue the countdown today at number 40 with Texas State’s Carson Smith. He is a 6-5 215 pound right handed pitcher from Midland Texas where he attended Midland Christian High School. As a senior in 2008, he was named District MVP and 1st team All-State. He was also named TAPPS 5A 2nd Team All-District in 2007 as a junior.

We continue the countdown today at number 67 with Oklahoma junior infielder Garrett Buechele. The Arlington TX native had an impressive career at Arlington Lamar High School where he won three letters. During his career, he had an impressive .421 batting average with eight homers and 65 RBIs while having a .430 batting average with 30 RBIs as a senior.

Top 100 Countdown: Number 67 Cameron Rupp (Texas)

CameronRuppHeadShot The CBB continues our countdown for the 2010 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today with number 67 in our countdown with Texas junior catcher Cameron Rupp. He is from Plano Texas and attended Prestonwood Christian Academy where he picked up three letters. His senior season saw him bat at a .644 clip with six homers and 55 RBI in 32 games while leading the squad to a state championship game appearance. He won multiple awards after his senior season including being named district MVP, all-state, Rawlings All-American and Louisville Slugger All-America honors. He also had an outstanding junior season as he hit .500 with 12 doubles, five home runs and 35 RBI to earn district MVP, all-state and Aflac All-America honors as a junior, helping team win a district title with a 24-5 record and earn a state semifinal appearance. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 43rd round in the 2007 draft but decided to head to Austin to play under legendary head coach Augie Garrido.

Kansas Jayhawks in the Summer Leagues

Kansas sophomore Jimmy Waters has been selected to play for the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Team in an exhibition against Team USA.

After an impressive 39-win season and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, several current members of the Kansas baseball team continue to open eyes this for various summer leagues and teams across the country.
