2014 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game Rosters Announced

WEST YARMOUTH, Mass. – On Saturday morning, the Cape Cod Baseball League held its annual selection for the Friendly’s CCBL All-Star game. The midsummer classic is being held at Doran Park, home of the Bourne Braves, on Sunday, July 27. With just eight days until the big event, the managers for each of the league’s 10 teams met and joined together by division to choose who has earned the right to represent the East and West in 2014. 2014 Futures League All Star Game Rosters Released

Futures Collegiate LeagueThe 3rd annual Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England All-Star Game will put the five teams from the East Division (Brockton, Martha’s Vineyard, North Shore, Old Orchard Beach, and Seacoast) against the five from the West Division (Nashua, Pittsfield, Torrington, Wachusett, and Worcester). The game will be held at 7:05 P.M. in Brockton, MA at Campanelli Stadium, home of the Brockton Rox on Thursday, July 24th. Continue reading

2014 West Coast League All-Stars Released

WestCoastLeagueWest Coast League president Dennis Koho announced the league’s All-Star Game rosters this morning. The North squad – made up of Kelowna, Victoria, Bellingham, Walla Walla, Wenatchee and Yakima – will be managed by Ed Knaggs, the skipper of the Wenatchee AppleSox. The South team – compromised of Kitsap, Cowlitz, Corvallis, Bend, Medford and host Klamath Falls – will be coached by Gems’ manager Mitch Karraker. Continue reading

Peninsula Pilots defeat Team USA 7-5

USABaseballFeatured1HAMPTON, Va. – The Peninsula Pilots rallied from a five-run deficit to defeat the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, 7-5, in front of a crowd of 3,312 on Sunday evening at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, Va.

The U.S. outhit the Pilots, 9-6, in the contest but issued 10 free passes on the mound and committed three errors, leading to two costly unearned runs. The loss is Team USA’s first of the summer as its record drops to 6-1. Continue reading

Number 2 on our countdown is East Carolina junior Jeff Hoffman. The 6’4 right-handed pitcher from Latham, New York spent his summer playing for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the prestigious Cape Cod League.  Continue reading
