SAN MARCOS – Ben Theriot blasted a solo home run to open the game for the Texas State Bobcats, aiding an 11-7 victory over Texas-Pan American Tuesday night at Bobcat Field. The team improves to 19-14 with the win and will look to sweep the series tomorrow at 6 p.m.

FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference Baseball players of the week were named today by the conference office as senior 1B Trent Lockwood, Northwestern State senior 1B Mike Jaworski and Texas State senior right hander Steven Siers are awarded weekly honors. Lockwood and Jaworski each claim their second honor of the season tying for the league lead. Siers earns his first and team’s first for Texas State. UTSA leads the total team count with four awards on the year with three consecutive.

SAN MARCOS – Steven Siers pitched seven full innings at Alumni Field blanking Southeastern Louisiana for his first career shut out, as the Texas State Bobcats run-ruled the Lions 11-0 Saturday afternoon in Hammond, La.
Texas State wasted no time putting the first run on the board when Laurn Randell put a two-out base hit into right field at the top of the first. On a wild pitch to Paul Goldschmidt, Randell advanced to second and Goldschmidt brought him around with a shot to centerfield.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama left-hander Miers Quigley threw one less scoreless inning Wednesday night than Southeastern Louisiana used pitchers in leading the Crimson Tide to a 7-0 win at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

The TCU Horned Frogs withstood a furious two-out rally by No. 30 Baylor Tuesday night to hang for the 4-3 victory at Baylor Ballpark. The victory is the sixth straight for the Horned Frogs and helps them improve to 11-0 in midweek contests this season. Clint Arnold was 4-for-5 at the plate, while Chris Ellington tallied two RBIs.
