Vincent Citro drove home the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th setting off a celebration 45 years in the making. Siena rallied from an early 7-0 deficit to shock #28 Dallas Baptist and the rest of the College Baseball World with a wild 9-8 victory Saturday at Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, the program’s first in NCAA Tournament play.

2014 Baton Rouge Regional: Day 1 Recap

LSU 8 Southeastern Louisiana 4

BATON ROUGE — LSU rallied from a 4-2 deficit with six runs in its last two at bats to defeat Southeastern Louisiana, 8-4, in the opening game of the 2014 NCAA Baseball Regional at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.

Top-seeded LSU (45-14-1) won its ninth-straight game and advanced to face the winner of No. 2-seed Houston and No. 3-seed Bryant at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. Continue reading

2014 Baton Rouge Regional Preview

The Tigers enter the NCAA tournament playing their best baseball of the season to date, winners of eight straight and coming off an SEC tournament championship. Originally thought to be a fringe host entering tournament play in Hoover, LSU won all four games, outscoring opponents 31-4 en route to an SEC tournament championship and were rewarded with the #8 national seed.
