NCBWA names Pro-Line Athletic Players of the Week for April 13th

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 13, today. Missouri senior outfielder Jacob Priday was named National Hitter of the Week, while San Diego State’s sophomore right-handed pitcher Stephen Strasburg was named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. Continue reading

C-USA Players of the week

After leading No. 24 East Carolina to a series win at No. 20 Southern Miss over the weekend, Pirates senior C Corey Kemp has been named the Conference USA Hitter of the Week. The Pitcher of the Week honor went to Rice sophomore RHP Ryan Berry who had his best outing of the season in a 3-0 win at Memphis on Saturday. Continue reading

Junior Blake Booher Earns ASC Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas – Junior Blake Booher (Hurst, Texas) was named East Division Pitcher of the Week for games played March 24-30 by the American Southwest Conference on Monday night.

In Booher’s one appearance on the week, he threw a two-hit, complete game shutout. Booher struck out 10 batters and walked just two in the nine-inning near masterpiece. Booher held his opponents to a meager .071 batting average in the 7-0 Patriot win

CAA Players of the Week for March 31

Appel batted .579 (11-19) with six runs scored and five RBI as UNCW went 4-0 on the road last week. The senior laced a two-out single in the ninth to give the Seahawks a 6-5 victory over VCU on Sunday, extending the nation’s longest winning streak to 20 games. Continue reading

Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Weekly Awards Announced 3/31


IRVING, Texas — Doug Thennis (Texas Tech) and Lance Hoge (Kansas State) have earned the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively, for games of March 24-30 in voting by a media panel. Thennis is recognized for the second time in his career while it is the first weekly accolade for Hoge.

FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference baseball players of the week were named today by the conference office as first basemen Trey Hernandez of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTSA Trent Lockwood earn co-player of the week honors. For the third consecutive week Southeastern Louisiana claims weekly honors as starting pitcher Wade Miley receives his first accolade of the season, giving the Lions three awards on the year for top marks in the SLC.

CSF’s Jorgenson, Komatsu, Sweep Big West Weekly Awards

Irvine, Calif. – Monday morning, the Big West Conference office announced that Cal State Fullerton’s Adam Jorgenson and Erik Komatsu swept this week’s Easton Big West Pitcher/Player of the Week Awards with their performances last week against then-No. 14 San Diego and UC Riverside.

Jorgenson, who picks up the weekly conference honor for the second straight week, turned in one of the more dominant pitching performances Titan history out of the bullpen Friday night (Mar. 28), earning the win in the Big West Conference opener at Goodwin Field. Southland Baseball Players Of The Week 03/18

FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference Baseball players of the week were named today by the conference office as Southeastern Louisiana out fielder Cass Hargis and Lamar starting pitcher Tim Erickson claimed their first weekly honors of the season, marking four consecutive weeks for a new team and player claim weekly honors.

Southeastern Louisiana outfielder Cass Hargis hit safely in all five games this week, extending his hitting streak to nine games. The Lions’ leadoff batter hit .650 on the week, picked up an RBI in every game and scored in every game but one. The Meraux native had three multi-hit games getting a pair of hits against Jackson State before going 2-for-3 in Southeastern’s conference opener at Stephen F. Austin and posting a 5-for-5 day in game two against the Lumberjacks that saw his first career grand slam. Hargis, who began the week hitting .357 has his average up to .418.
