Eastern Illinois releases 2015 Schedule

EasternIllinoisSliding_thumb.jpgEastern Illinois baseball has released its 2015 schedule which will open in mid-February with a three-game series at Southern Mississippi. The Panthers home opener will be Friday, March 6 against Austin Peay for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series.

EIU will play on the road the opening three weeks of the year with series at Central Arkansas and Kansas State to follow the trip to Southern Miss. The Panthers will play the first of three NCAA Tournament teams from last year on March 3 with a game at Indiana State. Continue reading

Jacksonville State releases 2015 Schedule

Jacksonville State University head baseball coach Jim Case announced the 2015 Gamecock schedule today with six of the first eight games against teams that made the 2014 NCAA postseason.

The Gamecocks have 30 home games scheduled for Rudy Abbott Field, including the season opening series against Youngstown State on Feb. 13-15. Jax State will also host NCAA Super-Regional participant Kennesaw State the second weekend, before traveling to face the Auburn Tigers for three games the following weekend. Continue reading

OXFORD, Miss. – Matt Gonzalez broke a 1-1 tie with a two-out, two-run double in the ninth inning as No. 25 Georgia Tech rallied to stave off elimination Sunday with a 4-2 win over Jacksonville State in the NCAA Oxford Regional.

The Yellow Jackets (37-26) will play again Sunday versus the loser of a game between Washington and Ole Miss that was set for a 4 p.m. ET first pitch. The late game at Ole Miss’s Swayze Field will begin at approximately 8 p.m. ET on ESPN3. Continue reading

Ole Miss 41-18

After being picked 6th in the SEC West in pre-season polls, the Rebels exceeded all expectations, winning the division with a 19-11 record and being in the discussion of a national seed. Their hopes of being one of the top eight fell short, but Ole Miss is hosting a regional and have a team that’s very reliable on both sides of the ball. Despite a very strong pitching staff featuring Chris Ellis (2.17 ERA) and Christian Trent (2.44 ERA) who combined to go 15-1 on the season, what the Rebels do offensively is what is so impressive. Murray State’s Rob McDonald not returning

Murray State Director of Athletics Allen Ward announced today that Rob McDonald will not return for his 12th season as Head Coach of the Murray State baseball team.

“This was a very difficult decision as I think the world of Rob and his family,” said Ward. “He’s a class act and I appreciate his service and dedication to the University”.
