College Baseball Daily has learned Clemson head coach Jack Leggett has been let go by the school after 22 seasons. College Baseball Daily has learned that Western Kentucky is set to hire John Pawlowski as head coach. Pawlowski has most recently served as the pitching coach at San Diego State after spending five seasons as the head coach with the Auburn Tigers where he accumulated a 167-127 record. Before heading to Auburn, he served as the head coach at the College of Charleston for nine seasons where he went 338-192-1 while being named Southern Conference. Lees becomes the 15th head coach in program history after spending the last three seasons as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma State and the previous 11 at Oregon State. TUCSON, Ariz. – Andy Lopez, a 33-year coaching veteran and one of the winningest coaches in college baseball, has announced his retirement as head coach at The University of Arizona. Lopez, who guided the Wildcats to a pair of College World Series appearances and the 2012 national championship, spent the past 14 years at Arizona after previous coaching stints at Cal State Dominguez Hills, Pepperdine and Florida.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Eastern Illinois University Athletic Department has announced that the contract for Panther head baseball coach Jim Schmitz will not be renewed. A search for his successor will begin immediately.
Schmitz completed his 21st season as the EIU head coach with the Panthers finishing the 2015 season with a 13-39 record. EIU finished last in the Ohio Valley Conference missing the OVC Tournament for the second time in the last three years. Schmitz compiled a record of 533-581-1 during his time at EIU. Portland head baseball coach Chris Sperry will not return for the 2016 season according to athletic director Scott Leykam. The Pilots went 12-42 overall while being only 7-20 in West Coast Conference play.
EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern head baseball coach Paul Stevens will retire at the conclusion of the 2015 season after serving the program since 1985, Vice President for Athletics and Recreation Jim Phillips announced Thursday, April 2. Stevens worked as an assistant coach under both Ron Wellman and Larry Cochell from 1985-1987 before taking over as NU’s head coach for the 1988 season.
“We are incredibly grateful that Northwestern has been blessed with a tremendous leader like coach Paul Stevens for the last three decades,” said Phillips. “His contributions to this place are simply immeasurable. The young men who have gone through the baseball program under his guidance illustrate the special investment that he has made into the success of each of their lives, both on and off the field. PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has named assistant baseball coach John O’Neil Acting Head Coach on an interim basis, following the recent resignation of head coach Pedro Swann.
A 2008 graduate of Colby-Sawyer College, O’Neil was currently in his fourth season as an assistant coach before his new appointment. Hired by former Hawks coach Will Gardner in 2012, O’Neil had previously served as the head coach of the Middlesex Rays in the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League, as well as an assistant at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and at his alma mater, Colby-Sawyer.
