NCBWA National Players of the Week (Feb. 19th)

NCBWA LogoMORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending February 17 today. Troy junior outfielder Danny Collins was named National Hitter of the Week, while Georgia Tech senior right-handed pitcher Buck Farmer was named National Pitcher of the Week. 2013 Attendance Report #1

NCBWA LogoThe NCBWA has released the first week Attendance results from this past weekends games. There is no surprise that the LSU Tigers are leading the pack with over elevan thousand fans attending games over the weekend. 2013 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Watch List

2012 NCBWA All-American Teams Announced

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – After two rounds of voting by the organization, 56 baseball student-athletes comprise the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association’s 17th Annual All-America first, second and third teams, as announced on Wednesday.

Twenty-one different conferences are represented, one independent and eight conference championships teams. The three All-America squads are also made up of 10 conference players of the year, seven conference pitchers of the year winners and 10 first-round draft picks in the recent Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. 2012 NCBWA Division 1 Poll

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 15th year with its 2012 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 20-June 27 following the 66th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at the new TD Ameritade Stadium.

To date, Florida, Florida State and two-time defending champ South Carolina have held the No. 1 NCBWA rankings in ’12. All eight NCAA Super Regional hosts were ranked among last week’s Top 30. The final NCBWA
