This season’s polls have been circulated from Feb. 18-June 26 following the 67th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., as UCLA captured its first NCAA baseball title. Continue reading

NCBWA June 4 Division I Poll

NCBWA LogoDALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 16th year with its 2013 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 18-June 27 following the 67th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at TD Ameritade Park.

Arkansas (preseason), North Carolina (next 10 surveys), Vanderbilt (April 29-May 20), and LSU (May 27-June 4) have been No. 1 during 2013. All eight NCAA Super Regional hosts are ranked among last and this week’s Top 30. The next-to-last NCBWA poll will be released after the June 8-11 NCAA Super Regional contests prior to the CWS. NCBWA LogoDALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 16th year with its 2013 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 18-June 27 (weekly through June 11) following the 67th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at TD Ameritade Park.

NCBWA LogoMORGANTOWN, W.Va – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA)­ released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending May 12, today. Florida State freshman outfielder D.J. Stewart was named National Hitter of the Week, while West Virginia sophomore left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave was named National Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. Continue reading

NCBWA April 29 Division I Poll Release

NCBWA LogoDALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 16th year with its 2013 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 18-June 27 (weekly through June 11) following the 67th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at TD Ameritade Park.

North Carolina, which had been No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks after Arkansas was preseason No. 1, was nudged out of the top spot for the first time in the 2013 regular season this week by Vanderbilt (39-6 overall to start the week). Those three schools are the only ones to have held down the No. 1 position throughout the 2013 surveys. The NCBWA poll voters come from 44 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. Continue reading
