The Zips lost a couple of 1-run games and salvaged a win against Belmont over the weekend. They lost on Friday 6-5 to Mercer despite Dom Iero going 2-4 with a run and an RBI. They bounced-back nicely with an 8-3 win over Belmont. Joey Havrilak was 2-4 with a home run and 2 RBI in the win. Jon Pusateri gave up 3 hits and 1 walk over 5 scoreless innings. The Zips took two-out-of-three in what was supposed to be a four game series that was cut short because of weather. They won the first game 2-1 thanks to a 2-4, 2 RBI performance by Dom Iero. John Valek III gave up 1 ER over 7 innings, while striking out six. They fell 1-0 in the second game, which was cut short to just seven innings. J.T. Brubaker gave up 1 run over 6 innings, allowing just 4 hits. They won game three 5-4. Daulton Mosbarger was 1-3 with 2 runs scored, while Iero collected two more RBI. Akron started off the year with a 7-5 win over Furman. Daulton Mosbarger was 2-4 with 3 RBI. They dropped the second game to Furman 8-7 in 10 innings. Dom Iero went 4-6 at the plate with 2 runs and 3 RBI. They bounced-back to finish off the weekend with a strong 11-3 win. Kris Simonton got it going with three hits, 2 runs and 2 RBI. Despite only losing four conference games and finishing with an overall record of 38-16, the Ball State Cardinals were left out of the postseason last year because they fell to the eventual MAC Conference Champion Kent State in the second round of the tournament. BOWLING GREEN, Ohio—The Bowling Green State University baseball program, under the direction of head coach Danny Schmitz, announced their 2015 schedule on Wednesday (Dec. 10) morning. Coming off a 25-27 season in 2014, the Falcons will begin their season on Feb. 13. The 2015 schedule will feature all 11 Mid-American Conference foes, and at least three first-time opponents.
“We are excited to announce our 2015 schedule,” head coach Danny Schmitz said. “The early season schedule will both challenge us and prepare us for Mid-American Conference play. KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan baseball team released its 2015 schedule with a total of 19 home games including five home Mid-American Conference series. For the fourth consecutive year, WMU will play the Detroit Tigers’ top prospects team at Joker Marchant Stadium as part of the annual Florida trip.

DeKALB – The NIU baseball team released its 2015 schedule Tuesday, a 56-game slate that will send the team to six different states, including Texas, where the Huskies will play 2014 College World Series participant Texas Tech.
Northern Illinois University and the Red Raiders will begin their four game series Friday, Feb. 20 and play two games on Saturday, Feb. 21. It will be NIU’s seventh trip to Lubbock all-time and the first time the teams have played a full series since 2012, when NIU nearly secured an upset over the 24th ranked Red Raiders in the series finale, 3-2.
