UT Pan Am Recap
Texas’ Brandon Workman got the start today on the mound and went 6 innings throwing 89 pitches and striking out 11 Broncs in picking up his first win as a Longhorn. Leading the way for the Horns offensively is Brandon Belt going for 2-4 and driving in 4 rbis. The starting Pitcher for the Broncs was Phillip Rodriquez. Phillip had the Horns handcuff through the first 4 innings in striking out 4 and the Horns batters guessing. After Phillip went out the bullpen could find the strike zone as they issue 8 walks and 3 hits bats man. Texas turn a 2-1 deficit in the 5 inning into a 10-3 win. These two teams will get right back out there tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. On the mound for Texas will be another Freshman Chance Ruffin and on the mound for the Broncs will be TBD.
Check back tomorrow as I will have a full rundown of the game.

UT Pan-Am Recap
The Houston Baptist University has released the 2008 schedule. This is the first season that the Huskies will participate in Division 1 as they are moving up from NAIA where they finished third in the NAIA World Series in 2007 with a 43-21 record. The team opens the season on February 1st when Concordia-Texas comes in for the start of a three game set. They will play the first game against a Division 1 program on February 26th when they play a doubleheader against Stephen F. Austin. They will end the season taking part in the NCAA Division 1 Independent Tournament in Edinburg. The full schedule is available by clicking here.
I wonder why the Huskies are being allowed to start the season on February 1st when the uniform start date is February 22nd. Anyone have any answers? If you do then leave them in the comments section.
