The Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette suffered a setback against Jackson State in their opening game of the NCAA tournament, but quickly elevated their play to move on to the Super Regionals.
The kings of Louisiana college baseball, at least for this year, are not the six-time national champions from LSU.
While Houston was unceremoniously ending LSU’s spring with a 12-2 rout Monday at the Baton Rouge Regional, Louisiana-Lafayette managed to keep alive the best season in school history by edging Mississippi State 5-3 to advance to the NCAA super regionals. Continue reading
Corvallis, Ore. – Andrew Morales and Evan Manarino combined for 7.2 innings on short rest as UC Irvine defeated No. 1 overall seed Oregon State 4-2 in the finale of the Corvallis Regional.
The Anteaters (39-23) play Oklahoma State in the Super Regionals in Stillwater, Okla., next. Oregon State (45-14) fell short at home in front of 3,435 baseball fans. Continue reading

HOUSTON – Chad Hollingsworth pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead the Texas baseball team past Texas A&M, 4-1, and capture the Houston Regional Championship Monday night at Reckling Park.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Tommy Edman hit a walk-off two-run home run to turn a one-run deficit into a 5-4 win over No. 4 national seed Indiana Monday night at Bart Kaufman Field.
