Opening Day Roundup (2/14)

It’s great to finally have college baseball back in our lives. Opening Day 2014 provided us with plenty of surprises and excitement on everybody’s first day back on the diamond, starting with the ACC.

A league considered to be one of the best in college baseball annually, the ACC stumbled out of the gate in route to a 3-5 overall record on Friday. There were surprising results throughout the league but none bigger than highly touted Virginia being knocked around by SEC foe Kentucky. Continue reading

Chandler Whitney comes out

Walla Walla Community College baseball player Chandler Whitney has come out to his teammates recently during a team meeting before the 2014 season. Whitney’s boyfriend Willamette University kicker Conner Mertens recently came out to his teammates and friends which gave coverage for Whitney to come out to his teammates. This is the first time that I remember that a current College Baseball player has come out to the public. Temple Baseball To Play Conference Games at Campbell’s Field

PHILADELPHIA - It is a new era for Temple University Baseball, so it is only fitting that the team will be playing in a new stadium.

Entering its first year as a member of the American Athletic Conference, Temple University today announced it will play all but one of its home conference games at beautiful Campbell’s Field, home of the Camden Riversharks.

Jameis Winston DNA Match; Coverup in Tallahassee?

JameisWinstonFlorida State starting QB and outfielder Jameis Winston has been involved in a reported sexual assault incident that took place in December of 2012. ESPN.com reported on Wednesday evening that the District Attorney tested a sample from the accuser’s underwear which is a match for Winston’s DNA.
