BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Collin Cowgill and Ryan Wilkes delivered solo home runs, lifting the 17th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats to a 2-1 victory over state rival Western Kentucky – sweeping the two-game season series – in front of a WKU school-record 3,057 fans at Nick Denes Field.

Kentucky (31-10, 9-9 Southeastern Conference) got the only two runs it needed from Cowgill and Wilkes. Cowgill’s home run was his 16th of the season, good for second in the NCAA, three behind Georgia shortstop Gordon Beckham’s 19 homers on the year. Wilkes belted his sixth of the season after hitting four combined homers in his first three years for the Wildcats. LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Third baseman Chris Dominguez drilled a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give the University of Louisville baseball team a 6-5 walk-off win over rival No. 17 Kentucky snapping a 22-game non-conference winning streak, in front of a regular season record crowd of 3,652 fans that packed Jim Patterson Stadium Tuesday night. NCBWA Announces Pro-Line Athletic National Players of the Week for April 22nd

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) ­ released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending April 22, today. Louisiana-Monroe senior outfielder Dexter Fontenot was named National Hitter of the Week, while Duke’s sophomore left-hander Chris Manno was named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season. BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior first baseman Yonder Alonso blasted a two-out two-run ninth inning home run and No. 1 Miami overcame a seven-run deficit to rally past Florida Atlantic, 12-10, Wednesday night at FAU Stadium in front of 2,348 fans. CORAL GABLES, FL – Florida Atlantic right-hander Michael Obradovich struck out a season-best seven batters, allowing just three runs in eight outstanding innings and All-America candidate William Block hit two home runs in the Owls’ 6-3 win over No. 1 Miami.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — All-America centerfielder Collin Cowgill belted two mammoth home runs and Sawyer Carroll added three RBI, as the No. 10 Kentucky baseball team notched a 7-3 win over the pesky Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, securing head coach John Cohen’s 300th career win, on Wednesday night, in front of a season-high 2,549 fans at Cliff Hagan Stadium. NCBWA names Pro-Line Athletic Players of the Week for March 25th

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending March 25, today. Florida Atlantic senior outfielder Mike McKenna was named National Hitter of the Week, while Missouri junior right-hander Aaron Crow was named National Pitcher of the Week. UNO completes sweep of Bama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of New Orleans baseball team hit four home runs, including two home runs by first baseman Jerad Comarda en route to a 17-8 win over the University of Alabama baseball team on a chilly Wednesday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Comarda, who had played in nine games and made two starts entering Wednesday’s game at Alabama, went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI as the Privateers completed the two-game sweep of the Crimson Tide. New Orleans picks up 8-5 win over Alabama
