Murray State’s Rob McDonald not returning

Murray State Director of Athletics Allen Ward announced today that Rob McDonald will not return for his 12th season as Head Coach of the Murray State baseball team.

“This was a very difficult decision as I think the world of Rob and his family,” said Ward. “He’s a class act and I appreciate his service and dedication to the University”.

2014 Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Coaches Poll

OhioValleyConferenceBRENTWOOD, Tenn. — After winning the Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship a season ago and returning six positional starters this year Tennessee Tech has been tabbed the 2014 preseason favorite for the 11-team league in a vote of OVC head baseball coaches and sports information directors. In additional voting TTU senior first baseman Zach Stephens was named OVC Preseason Player of the Year for the second-consecutive season while Jacksonville State closer Travis Stout was tabbed OVC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Eastern Kentucky releases 2014 Schedule

EKUBaseballRICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University is scheduled to play nine baseball games against teams that advanced to the 2013 NCAA Tournament, head coach Jason Stein announced today with the release of the complete 2014 schedule.

Those NCAA Tournament teams are Louisville, South Carolina, East Tennessee and Austin Peay. Louisville advanced all the way to the College World Series. South Carolina, the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Champions and 2012 runner up, advanced to a super regional in 2013. Continue reading

Austin Peay releases 2014 Schedule

AustinPeayScheduleCLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team will play 31 games at Raymond C. Hand Park as part of its 2014 schedule, head coach Gary McClure announced Wednesday.

Austin Peay begins 2014 with 17 of its first 20 games at Raymond C. Hand Park, including the season-opening series against Iowa, Feb. 14-16. It is the second consecutive season the Hawkeyes have visited Clarksville to start a campaign. Continue reading

2013 NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award Finalists
