2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 28th)

Purdue (44-12) ends the 2012 regular season as the #1 Mid-Major. The Boilermakers will make their first NCAA appearance since 1987 and will host (Gary, Indiana) a regional as announced Sunday. Purdue went 3-0 on their way to winning the Big 10 tourney title with a win over Ohio St and two wins over Indiana including a 6-5 win in the title game. Continue reading

2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 7th)

TCU (29-16) slides up 2 spots to take over #1 for week 12. The Horned Frogs went 3-1 on the week beating Oklahoma 4-3 Tuesday and winning 2 of 3 vs New Mexico in MWC play. TCU and New Mexico are now tied atop the MWC standings at 13-5 and having split their 6 games. Continue reading

2012 CBD Mid Major Poll (April 23rd)

Purdue (31-6) remains on top for 4th consecutive week. The Boilermakers won 12-2 at Illinois-Chicago Wednesday before they traveled to Nebraska in the Big 10 series of year to date. Purdue took game 1 Friday 8-5 and Nebraska evened series Saturday with an 8-3 win. Purdue won the series with an 8-3 win of their own on Sunday. With the series win Purdue sits in first place in Big 10, 3 ½ games ahead of Michigan St and Minnesota, at 12-3. According to warrennolan.com Purdue’s RPI is 11 which have them in very good position to host a regional. They can add to that resume in the next 2 weeks when they host Michigan St and then travel to UCLA for 3 game series May 5th-6th. Continue reading

Harvard Stadium, which is one of the oldest college football stadiums in the country, is home to the Harvard baseball team and many other spring sports during the winter months as an indoor training facility. Brown releases 2012 Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown baseball head coach Marek Drabinski has announced the 2012 schedule, and a demanding early season nonconference slate will once again serve to prepare the Bears for the Ivy League schedule. Brown will square off against NCAA Regional participant FIU to open the season on March 2, before opening its Ivy portion on March 31 at Penn. The Bears will also host 2011 NCAA qualifier Maine at Murray Stadium on March 22, in the team’s home-opener after making their annual eight-game, West Coast road-trip. Continue reading
