FSU 4 Auburn 3

Tallahassee, Fla. – Florida State (6-0) remained undefeated on the season with a 4-3 victory over Auburn (4-3) in front of a crowd of 6,544, the fourth largest crowd to witness a game at Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles got seven shutout innings from senior Ryan Strauss and three solo home runs on Saturday afternoon to win their third straight game over the Tigers this season. Continue reading

CSTV Preseason Player of the Year

CSTV has put out their 2008 Preseason Player of the Year list which puts Pedro Alvarez in the top spot. Former Vanderbilt teammate David Price was able to win the award in 2007 after an oustanding campaign. Alvarez led the Commodores in hitting at a .386 clip while finishing second on the team with 18 homers. He picked up several awards in 2007 being named to several All-American teams. The CBB voted in the poll and put Justin Smoak in the top spot slightly ahead of Pedro. The full article from CSTV is available here.

Yale Releases 2008 Baseball Schedule

FROM PRESS RELEASE
NEW HAVEN, Conn.–The 2008 Yale baseball schedule was announced today. The 46-game slate includes 20 conference games and 15 home contests at Yale Field.

The season gets underway with a three-game series at George Washington on March 1-2. The Bulldogs and Colonials will square off in a doubleheader on March 1, then a single game the following day. Continue reading
