PHILADELPHIA – The Penn baseball team and W. Joseph Blood Head Coach of Baseball John Cole released the 2013 schedule on Monday. The Quakers will take on squads from seven leagues up and down the East Coast in non-conference play, plus the always-grueling Ivy League schedule. Jeff Calcaterra named Assistant Coach at Hartford

Jeff Calcaterra has been named as Harvard’s top assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator by Bill Decker, the Joseph J. O’Donnell ’67 Head Coach for Harvard Baseball.

He most recently served as head coach at the University of Hartford from 2005 to 2011, winning 82 games. Prior to Hartford, Calcaterra spent 11 seasons as the full-time assistant coach at Indiana University. Read the rest of this entry »

Columbia promotes Pete Maki to Associate Head Coach

NEW YORK – Columbia’s Pete Maki was promoted to associate head coach recently, head coach Brett Boretti announced. Maki is in his sixth season as the Lions’ pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.

2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 28th)

Purdue (44-12) ends the 2012 regular season as the #1 Mid-Major. The Boilermakers will make their first NCAA appearance since 1987 and will host (Gary, Indiana) a regional as announced Sunday.
