2012 CBD Mid Major Poll (April 2nd)

For the 4th week in a row we have a new #1. Purdue (20-5) continues to play great baseball in 2012, moving up to the top spot with a 4-1 week. The Boilermakers started the week off beating Louisville 2-1 in 10 innings on Tuesday, followed by a 6-1 win Wednesday over IUPU-Fort Wayne, and taking 2 of 3 from Penn St in Big 10 play. 2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (March 12th)

Texas St (11-4) takes over the top spot.

The Bobcats, who had thrown 5 consecutive shutouts entering the week, picked up a 3-2 win vs Rice on Tuesday before taking 2 of 3 at UT-Arlington to start Southland play…….Stetson (12-3) who had held the top spot for the first 3 weeks dropped down to #2. The Hatters beat Maine 3-2 Tuesday and won 2 of 3 vs Harvard. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (March 5th)

Stetson (9-2) stays at #1 for the 3rd week in row to start 2012 going 3-1 on week. (1-0 at Bethune-Cookman; 1-0 Penn; 0-1 S. Illinois; 1-0 Georgia St)………Louisville (8-3) and TCU (4-6) each slide down one spot but not because of their play. Another club just had a very good week. Louisville slides to #3 even after winning 2 of 3 from Pepperdine and TCU goes to #4 after taking 2 of 3 from Oklahoma St.

A few teams at the bottom of rankings continued to struggle and paved the way for teams who are not struggling to take their place. Read the rest of this entry »

The Stetson Hatters (6-1) stay at #1 winning 3 of 4 from Central Michigan.

2012 CBD Preseason Mid-Major Poll and All-American Teams

Cal State Bakersfield releases 2012 Schedule

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-CSU Bakersfield head coach Bill Kernen has announced the 2012 Roadrunner baseball schedule with CSUB opening its final campaign as an independent Feb. 18 when the Roadrunners host 2011 NCAA Tournament qualifier Kansas State in a three-game series (Feb. 18-20). WAC officially adds CSU Bakersfield and Dallas Baptist for Baseball

CBD contributor Sam Wasson was the first to report that Cal-State Bakersfield and Dallas Baptist would be joining the WAC in baseball. The WAC put out their official press release today which you can check out below.

CBD Exclusive: DBU and Bakersfield to the WAC

College Baseball Daily has learned through independent sources that Dallas Baptist and Cal-State Bakersfield will be added to the WAC as associate members for baseball only.
