Cape Cod Baseball League Players of the Week (July 4th)

Left-handed batter Drew Dosch (Youngstown State) of the Falmouth Commodores made some key hits that earned him a current batting average of .368 and Coca Cola’s Player of the Week. In last Wednesday’s game against Cotuit, Dosch hit a two-out double in the seventh inning that helped earn the Commodores a 9-2 victory over the Kettleers. 2012 CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 28th)

Purdue (44-12) ends the 2012 regular season as the #1 Mid-Major. The Boilermakers will make their first NCAA appearance since 1987 and will host (Gary, Indiana) a regional as announced Sunday. Purdue went 3-0 on their way to winning the Big 10 tourney title with a win over Ohio St and two wins over Indiana including a 6-5 win in the title game. CBD Journal with Western Illinois (May 22nd)

Halfway through the season Coach Villano started sending us video clips and questions to help us understand ourselves and what we were trying to accomplish this season. I will always remember one of the first ones he sent, of a speech by Kirk Cousins of Michigan State. He addressed over and over what a privilege it is to be an athlete and what an honor it is to represent something bigger.
