GAINESVILLE, Fla. — North Carolina scored all five of its runs in the third inning after a lengthy rain delay and the third-seeded Tar Heels held on to eliminate No. 2 national seed Florida 5-2 Saturday at McKethan Stadium. Gainesville, Fla. – Andrew Rohrbachturned away both the heat and the Tar Heels in a masterful performance, pitching 8.1 innings and allowing just one run as the Dirtbags opened up the 2014 postseason with a 6-1 win over North Carolina.

- Florida is making its 30th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, including its seventh straight under coach Kevin O’Sullivan.
- Long Beach State is making its 20th NCAA Tournament trip, but first since 2008.
- North Carolina is making its 29th NCAA Tournament appearance.
- College of Charleston is in the tournament for the sixth time, including the second as an automatic qualifier.

College of Charleston led by sophomore LHP Eric Bauer has their sights set upon making a trip back to the NCAA Tournament. The Cougars currently sit at 31-13 with a 10-2 mark in CAA play but their RPI isn’t in the spot they need it to be at 72.
