Michigan releases 2015 Schedule

MichiganBaseballFeaturedANN ARBOR, Mich. — The University of Michigan baseball program and third-year head coach Erik Bakich have announced its 2015 schedule on Tuesday (Sept. 9). The slate is highlighted by 24 games against 2014 NCAA Tournament teams, 22 games at the Wilpon Complex and a pair of home series against 2014 Super Regional teams Maryland and Oklahoma State. Eastern Michigan to name Mark Van Ameyde as Head Coach

MarkVanAmeydeMSUCollege Baseball Daily has learned that Eastern Michigan will hire current Michigan State assistant coach Mark Van Ameyde as head coach. Van Ameyde joined the Spartans program in June 2008 as the pitching coach and was elevated as to Associate Head Coach in 2011. Before joining the Michigan State staff, he spent a season as an assistant at Eastern Michigan. He also has coaching stops at Georgetown and Detroit-Mercy. Indiana hires Chris Lemonis as Head Coach

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University Vice President and Director of Athletics Fred Glass announced the hiring of Louisville assistant coach Chris Lemonis as the 24th head coach of the Hoosier baseball program Wednesday. 2014 Bloomington Regional: Day 3 Recap

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Stanford eliminated Youngstown State and stayed alive in the Bloomington Regional with an 12-4 win Sunday afternoon at Bart Kaufman Field. Brett Hanewich threw seven innings, while allowing one earned run on three hits, and Danny Diekroeger went 3-4 with three RBI to lead the Cardinal.

Stanford (32-24) moves on to tonight’s championship round against No. 4 national seed Indiana by ending Youngstown State’s season. 2014 Stillwater Regional: Day 2 Recap

Stillwater, Okla. – Trailing by one run and two outs away from the end of the 2014 season, Nebraska’s offense rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth inning on its way to a 8-6 win over the Binghamton Bearcats in an elimination game on Saturday afternoon at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium. The No. 19 Huskers are now 41-20 on the year, and will continue NCAA Tournament play tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. against the loser of tonight’s game between Cal State Fullerton and Oklahoma State. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Freshman Cal Quantrill threw a complete game and classmate Jack Klein hit a three-run home run to lead Stanford to an 8-1 win over Indiana State in the first game of the Bloomington Regional.

2014 Stillwater Regional Day 1 Recap

STILLWATER, Okla. – For six innings, the Cal State Fullerton offense was dormant in their opening game of their Regional opener. But J.D. Davis jolted it back to life with a grand slam in the eighth inning which proved to be the difference as the Titans upended No. 19 Nebraska 5-1 Friday afternoon at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.

Davis went 2-for-4 for the Titans (33-22), driving in four runs and extending his hitting streak to 13 games in the process. He was the only Titans player to collect multiple hits against the Cornhuskers (40-20) pitching staff but it proved to be enough. It was also the Titans eighth straight win.
