LSU’s Paul Mainieri Supports Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation

BATON ROUGE – LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri was the special guest recently at “Home Run for Hearts,” an event benefitting the Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation. Hofstra Baseball Participates in Community Raking Day

On Saturday, November 13, members of the Hofstra Baseball and Wrestling teams participated in the Shake and Rake program, sponsored by the Office of Off-Campus Living and Commuting Student Services.

Over 40 student-athletes and coaches visited 13 homes in the Hempstead and Uniondale communities to provide yard work assistance to local residents. In total, approximately 60 students volunteered for the event, including members of Alpha Kappa Psi and Phi Delta Theta. Continue reading


Duke Baseball at Miracle League of the Triangle


DukeMiracleLeagueCARY, N.C. – The Duke baseball team continued its fall community service drive with its annual trip to the Miracle League of the Triangle last week.

The Blue Devils volunteered for two games and served as “buddies” to the children who take part in the Miracle League, which is a non-profit organization that allows special needs children to play America’s favorite pastime – baseball. The children play on a special field where they get the opportunity to bat, run the bases and play in the field. Duke baseball players helped the children complete all of those tasks to the tune of music, a PA announcer and an ecstatic crowd.

Western Kentucky Visits with Kelly Autism Program


WKUAutismBOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The WKU baseball team spent some time giving back to the community Thursday afternoon as they welcomed students from the local Kelly Autism Program to Nick Denes Field.

The student athletes took a break from their fall practice to play catch and interact with students from the program. The students spent time learning about the game of baseball and even got the chance to step inside the batting cage and take some swings.

Iona Walks for Charity


IonaCharityWalkFifteen members of the Iona College baseball team attended the annual Diabetes Walk at White Plains High School on October 17, 2010. The walk consisted of teams who supported a friend or family and they competed in a friendly competition to raise money for the American Diabetes Association. The event also had games for children to play and free food available that met the needs of those with Diabetes. The Gaels participated in the walk and once over, helped clean up tables, tents, and garbage.
