Foley’s Quick Hits for Feb. 26th

There was some fantastic baseball played on Saturday afternoon/evening between a couple of ranked squads. The highlight series of the weekend has been the Vanderbilt and Stanford matchup in Nashville. The Commodores grabbed the first game of the series on Friday night by a score of 2-1. Foley’s Quick Hits for Feb. 25th

This weekend we see two major non-conference matchups between ranked teams with Stanford heading to Vanderbilt and Cal-State Fullerton visiting Fort Worth to visit TCU. Also, Georgia Tech is hosting St. John’s and Long Beach State hosting Arizona in some other series to watch.  Continue reading

It was a great day on Wednesday with Assistant Editor Mark Rafferty doing his first interview since joining the staff full-time last year. Foley’s Quick Hits for Feb. 22nd

We saw several upsets on Tuesday during mid-week games including the biggest one with Texas A&M Corpus-Christi defeating the Texas Longhorns in Austin. The other major upsets were Lamar defeating Rice and Georgia Southern defeating Georgia Tech. Continue reading


Foley’s Quick Hits for Feb. 21st

Monday is historically a slow day in College Baseball but we saw two ranked squads in action with #19 ranked Oregon finishing up a four game series with Hawaii and Cal-State Fullerton finishing up a three game set with Long Beach State. Continue reading

Foley’s Quick Hits for Feb. 19th

Another day is in the books as we are now two days into the season as there was several upsets in the NCBWA Top 35.

Foley’s Quick Hits from Feb. 18th

The first day of College Baseball is in the books with some interesting results. The season isn’t a sprint but a bad start to the season could always affect your chances at making the NCAA Baseball Tournament in May. All of the top 35 teams were scheduled to be in action but number nine ranked Cal-State Fullerton was rained out at Long Beach State. The only ranked matchup was between the Stanford Cardinal who visited the Rice Owls. Here are some of my thoughts on the first night of action in College Baseball.
