Cal State Fullerton 6, Arizona State 1
Thomas Eshelman followed suit and dominated on the mound for Cal State Fullerton as the Titans (51-8) punched their ticket to the Super Regionals with a 6-1 victory over Arizona State Sunday evening at Goodwin Field.
Eshelman just did what Grahamm Wiest and Justin Garza did ahead of him on Friday and Saturday, securing a three-game sweep of the Fullerton (CA) Regional. The Titans advance to the Sweet 16 of college baseball, the Super Regionals. They will host UCLA next weekend beginning Friday at 4 p.m. with games scheduled Saturday at 7 p.m. and, if necessary, Sunday at 7 p.m. as well. Continue reading
UCLA 6, San Diego 0
LOS ANGELES — Sophomore starter Grant Watson pitched his best game of the season, combining with two relievers for a one-hit shutout of San Diego in the championship game of the Los Angeles Regional at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

LOS ANGELES — Kris Bryant entered the postgame press conference with tears in his eyes. San Diego’s All-American slugger of legendary tales and heroic triumphs this season had been revealed to be a mortal man.
Like all players, Bryant saw his career come to a close. And like most, it ended in tears of sadness rather than glory.
Grant Watson stymied the probable top three draft pick and his Torero teammates as UCLA defeated San Diego 6-0 in Sunday night’s Los Angeles Regional championship game to advance to the Super Regionals for the fourth time in the last seven years. Continue reading
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Ben Wetzler gave up a run in the first inning, then shut Texas A&M out the remainder of the game as Oregon State wore the Aggies out to take a 6-1 victory and the Corvallis Regional title on Sunday night.
A Friday night starter in 2012, Wetzler has been the Beavers’ Sunday starter since returning from a sore back part way through the nonconference season. He delivered an all-Pac-12 worthy season, earning first team accolades along with OSU’s other weekend starters. Against A&M, he might have been better than ever. Continue reading
Oregon first baseman Ryon Healy is a player that can handle pressure.
Against Rice, with the Ducks facing elimination, Healy matched a career highs in hits (4) and RBI’s (4), as Oregon defeated Rice 11-0 Sunday evening in the Eugene Regional at PK Park.
“Healy felt good,” said head coach George Horton. “Certainly when you hit a home run it makes your back feel better. He had a huge day. He’s the monster in the middle of the lineup.” Continue reading
LOS ANGELES – Troy Conyers came on in relief and picked up his third win of the season while also delivering a big two-run single to help lead San Diego past Cal Poly, 8-5, in a Los Angeles Regional elimination game Sunday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
San Diego (37-24) and Cal Poly (40-19) battled back and forth until the fifth inning when AJ Robinson scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball. The Toreros plated four runs in the sixth inning despite Conyers’ two-run single being the only hit in the inning. Continue reading
CORVALLIS, Ore. – A big early lead was just enough to keep the Texas A&M Aggies hopes alive for at least a few more hours.
The Aggies led UC Santa Barbara 4-0 after three innings – getting a two-run double from first baseman Cole Lankford in the third – and escaped the Gauchos seventh-inning rally by turning to closer Jason Jester. That got them a 5-4 victory and a shot at the Corvallis Regional’s top-seed, Oregon State. Continue reading
In the elimination game, at the Eugene Regional, the Oregon baseball team benefited from an unlikely source of offense, the long-ball.
Catcher Shaun Chase and left fielder Tyler Baumgartner each hit solo shots to lead Oregon to a 6-1 victory over the San Francisco Dons at PK Park Sunday afternoon.
Chase launched his third homer of the season to left field in the top of the fourth. The shot gave Oregon a 2-1 lead. Continue reading

San Diego 6, San Diego State 3
LOS ANGELES — Dylan Covey put together his best start of the season to lead San Diego past rival San Diego State, 6-3, in an elimination game in the Los Angeles Regional Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
San Diego fell behind 2-0, but rallied for five runs in the fifth inning with redshirt senior Austin Green striking the big blow. After San Diego State starter Michael Cederoth walked in a run, Philip Walby entered to pitch. Green greeted him with a two-run liner through the left side. Continue reading
