PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Under the direction of head coach Joe Litterio, the Rutgers baseball program announced its 2016 schedule Wednesday. The slate includes 56 games overall, 24 against Big Ten competition and 19 versus teams that qualified for the 2015 NCAA Tournament.
Ohio State pitcher Zach Farmer passed away on Tuesday after a 15 month battle with leukamania according to the Chillicothe Gazette. Farmer was declared cancer free back this spring and returned to throw out the first pitch in April. His cancer returned in mid July and his doctors couldn’t do much for him.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland head baseball coach John Szefc will serve a two-game NCAA suspension because of his ejection from Sunday’s Big Ten Championship game. Szefc was ejected during the top of the seventh inning by home plate umpire Jim Schaly in Maryland’s 4-3 loss to Michigan.
