FARMVILLE, Va. — Longwood University Director of Athletics Troy Austin has announced the appointment of Ryan Mau as the fourth head coach of the Lancers’ tradition-rich baseball program. Mau, with 12 years of collegiate coaching experience, has been an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy for the past four seasons, serving as the recruiting coordinator, as well as the pitching and catching coach.
“Ryan has established himself as a tireless recruiter and a stellar coach,” said Austin. “I have quickly come to learn that he has a passion for developing young people and a strong desire to lead the Longwood Baseball program. UNC Asheville will name Scott Friedholm as their next head coach. He had served the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Boston College. Before joining the Boston College staff, he spent time at Navy and Maine under Paul Kostacopoulos after an outstanding career at Providence College where he was an All-Big East squad member.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Senior left-handed pitcher Dan Weigel pitched a complete-game four-hitter and did not allow a run over the final eight innings in leading the Bucknell baseball team to a 5-2 NCAA Regional victory over Liberty Saturday afternoon at Davenport Field.
