High Point releases 2015 Schedule

WilliardStadiumHighPoint_thumb.jpgHIGH POINT, N.C. – High Point University baseball head coach Craig Cozart announced the team’s schedule for the upcoming 2015 season on Tuesday. High Point will face a challenging slate of non-conference opponents that includes the College of Charleston, South Florida, North Carolina, Elon and Davidson.

“We have once again put together a challenging schedule for our team this season,” head coach Craig Cozart said. “We have several quality home series and two very challenging road series at the College of Charleston and South Florida. Our midweek schedule will once again be filled with talented teams from the ACC, the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, the CAA and the SoCon. Our conference slate will provide us with a great test as we prepare for the Big South Tournament. Liberty releases 2015 Schedule

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Two games against 2014 NCAA College World Series runner-up Virginia, two contests against 2014 NCAA Super Regional participant Maryland and a season-opening match-up with 2014 NCAA Super Regional participant Kennesaw State are a part of a challenging 2015 schedule released by the Liberty baseball program, this afternoon.

VMI named Jonathan Hadra as Head Coach

HadraLEXINGTON, Va. – Jonathan Hadra, a four-year letterman and 2004 graduate of VMI, was named the 20th head coach in VMI baseball history on Thursday, Nov. 13. Hadra had been serving as the acting head coach since Nov. 3, when he was named to that role following the resignation of Marlin Ikenberry, who chose to pursue an opportunity in private business. VMI’s Marlin Ikenberry Resigns

VMIPhoto_thumb.jpgLEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Head Baseball Coach Marlin Ikenberry will step aside to pursue an opportunity in private business, according to information released by VMI athletics director Dr. Dave Diles late Monday. The move is effective at the end of November, but a search for Ikenberry’s successor will begin immediately with longtime assistant and current Associate Head Coach Jonathan Hadra serving as acting head coach during that time.

After leading the High Point Panthers to the program’s best record in 30 years (33-22), a disappointing finish in the Big South Tournament to eventual Tournament Champion, Campbell in the Big South Semi-Final cut the season short.

Radford releases 2015 Schedule

Radford head baseball coach Joe Raccuia announced Thursday his team’s schedule for the upcoming 2015 season, which begins February 13 in Birmingham, Ala. with the first of a three-game series at Samford. The slate features 25 games against teams that have qualified for the NCAA Tournament in the last two seasons, including last year’s national runner-up, Virginia and super regional participant, College of Charleston. Coastal Plain League releases 2014 Individual Awards

CPLlogoThe Coastal Plain League proudly announced Michael Morrison and Gene Cone, both of the Florence RedWolves, have been named the 2014 CPL Players of the Year presented by 919 Marketing – with Morrison taking Pitcher of the Year honors and Cone earning Hitter of the Year.
