Memphis Tigers connection to Super Bowl

Current New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski has a personal connection with the Memphis baseball program. Gostkowski pitched for parts of four years with the baseball program and was in the Tiger’s dugout when he received the call from Bill Belichick to inform him that he was selected in the fourth round of the 2006 draft. 2015 American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll and Awards

AACLogoPROVIDENCE, R.I. – Houston was picked as the preseason favorite in the 2015 American Athletic Conference preseason baseball poll, as voted on by the conference’s eight head coaches. UCF, which received two first-place votes, ranked second, while conference newcomer East Carolina was selected as third. Cincinnati OF Ian Happ was voted the Preseason Player of the Year, while USF’s Jimmy Herget was tabbed as Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Cincinnati releases 2015 Schedule

CincyCINCINNATI – Head coach Ty Neal and the University of Cincinnati baseball program released the 2015 schedule on Friday afternoon. The challenging slate will feature six teams that participated in the 2014 NCAA tournament, including one team that advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals and another squad that reached the College World Series.

Memphis releases 2015 Schedule

DaronSchoenrockMemphisMEMPHIS, Tenn. – Highlighted by 28 games at FedExPark, head coach Daron Schoenrock released the 2015 University of Memphis baseball schedule on Wednesday.

OMAHA, Neb. — Texas took advantage of four Louisville errors to take a 4-1 victory Monday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park. The Longhorns kept their season alive while Louisville’s 2014 College World Series tour is over.

Texas (44-20) scored single runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to take a commanding 3-0 lead behind the arm of Parker French, who allowed one run on four hits in 7.1 innings to improve to 7-5.
