ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Americans & Gold Glove team announced

The American Baseball Coaches Association has announced the 2015 ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans, the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove team and the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Bat Award as National Player of the Year for NCAA Div. II.

Craig Brooks, a senior pitcher from Catawba College, was named 2015 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Bat Award winner as National Player of the Year. Brooks is 9-1 with 150 strikeouts and 33 walks in 96 innings pitched this season. He has limited opponents to a .157 batting average and led the Indians to an appearance in the NCAA Div. USA Baseball reveals 30-player Golden Spikes Award watch list

USABASEBALL_thumb.jpgDURHAM, N.C. — USA Baseball unveiled its 30-player USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award watch list on Thursday, recognizing potential candidates for the top amateur baseball player in the country. Sponsored by Major League Baseball, and presented in partnership with the Rod Dedeaux Foundation, the Golden Spikes Award will be presented for the 38th time on Tuesday, June 23, in Los Angeles.

2015 Pitcher of the Year Watch List released

LUBBOCK, Texas — As conference play begins to wind down for many schools, the National College Baseball Hall of Fame released today the initial watch list for the Pitcher of the Year Award.

2015 Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Watch list

Wallace_AwardLUBBOCK, Texas — Although big-name schools often dominate the college baseball conversation, they don’t rule the initial watch list for the 2015 Brooks Wallace Shortstop of the Year Award.

NCBWA Players of the Week

NCBWA LogoDALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its National Player of the Week awards for the period ending Feb. 15. Texas Tech junior first baseman Eric Gutierrez was named National Hitter of the Week, while Navy junior left-handed pitcher Luke Gillingham was named National Pitcher of the Week. Sponsored by Major League Baseball, and presented in partnership with the Rod Dedeaux Foundation, 2015 marks the 38th year of the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award.

The preseason watch list features 50 of the nation’s top amateur players, and will be a “rolling” list until May 22 — when the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award semifinalists are announced — ensuring that athletes can play themselves into consideration for the award throughout the collegiate and high school seasons.
