Number 15 on our countdown is TCU junior LHP Brandon Finnegan. The Fort Worth, Texas native attended Southwest High School where he was a three year letter winner. He was drafted in the 45th round by the Texas Rangers but decided to head to TCU. Continue reading

Number 16 on our countdown is LSU sophomore shortstop Alex Bregman from Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended Albuquerque Academy. He had an injury filled high school senior season after having one of the best seasons in New Mexico high school baseball history. In his junior year, he hit .678 and set a New Mexico season record with 19 HR. He was selected after his senior season by the Boston Red Sox in the 29th round. Continue reading

Number 17 on our countdown is Oregon State senior Ben Wentzler from Clackamas, Oregon where he attended Clackamas High School. He had a career high school record of 28-3 with five saves, 342 strikeouts, 53 walks, 25 earned runs and a 0.87 ERA in 201 1/3 innings pitched. He went 12-0 his senior year, finishing with four saves and a 0.32 ERA. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and selected as the Louisville Slugger Player of the Year, was an All-American and participated in the Oregon 6A-5A All-Star series. Continue reading

Number 19 on our countdown is junior RHP David Berg from Covina, California where he was a two year letter winner at Bishop Amat High School. As a senior, he went 7-1 with four saves and a 1.05 ERA, logging 59 strikeouts and five walks in 47.0 innings while being used exclusively as a relief pitcher. Continue reading

Number 20 on our countdown is UNLV junior RHP Erick Fedde from Las Vegas, Nevada where he attended Las Vegas High School. He was a three-year letter winner mainly as a pitcher, but also played in the outfield for the Wildcats. He had a career 14-8 overall record on the hill while being named second team all-state as a junior while being first team all-region honors as an outfielder and first team all-state honors as a pitcher as a senior. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 24th round of the 2011 MLB Amateur Draft but decided to head to UNLV. Continue reading

Number 21 on our countdown is UCLA sophomore RHP James Kaprielian (UCLA). He was a three-year varsity baseball letterwinner at Beckman High School (Irvine, Calif.) under head coach Kevin Lavelle where he posted a career record of 33-3 with a 0.96 ERA, 250 strikeouts and 23 complete games. In his senior campaign, he went 12-2 with a 0.84 ERA, striking out 112 batters in 83.1 innings pitched and recording 10 saves. He was selected in the 40th round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Continue reading

Number 22 on our countdown is Arizona State sophomore RHP Ryan Burr from Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Highlands Ranch High School. He was named a two-time All-Colorado and All-State Aflac All-American selection while also being named Rawlings First Team All-American. He had a combined 1.70 ERA and had 95+ strikeouts in consecutive seasons. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 33rd round (1026th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft but decided to head to Arizona State instead. Continue reading
