2014 Top 100 Players Countdown: 99. Max Povse (UNC Greensboro)

MaxPovseUNCGCollege Baseball Daily kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the list today at number 99 with UNC Greensboro junior RHP Max Povse from Green Hope High School and Cary, North Carolina. He was a four varsity letterwinner at Green Hope High School and was drafted in the 42nd round selection by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft where he won all-conference honors as a senior. He set a new school record by striking out 18 batters in just eight innings against Middle Creek. Continue reading

The first player on the list checking in at number 100 is Maine infielder Alex Calbick. The Burnaby, British Columbia native attended Burnaby Secondary school where he hit.390 as a senior with one home run and 38 RBI and as a junior, batted .333 with a home run and 29 RBI while being a member of the Canadian Junior National Team.
