Rider releases 2014 Schedule

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ—With remnants of the last two snow falls still covering Sonny Pittaro Field, the Rider University baseball team is preparing for the 2014 season opener in three weeks.

“I don’t think anybody has enough time to prepare,” said head coach Barry Davis, the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Coach of the Year, “but there are teams in our league who are going to play before us. This forces you to get ready.” Continue reading

UMass releases 2014 Schedule

RyanFranczekUMass_thumb.jpgAMHERST, Mass. – The UMass baseball team released its 2014 schedule Wednesday afternoon with the campaign slated to open on Saturday, Feb. 22. UMass will face the Army Black Knights in a doubleheader beginning at noon in Cary, N.C. The series finishes the following day as both teams will face off at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23.

UMass’ early season action will also feature four games against ACC foe Maryland from Feb. 28 to March 2 in College Park, Md. The squad then heads south again to Davidson, N.C., to face Davidson and North Carolina A&T (March 7-9) and will play its second three-game series with Army in Tampa, Fla., March 15-16. Illinois releases 2014 Schedule

DanHartlebIllinois.jpgCHAMPAIGN, Ill. – University of Illinois head coach Dan Hartleb announced the team’s 2014 schedule Monday, including four opponents, Coastal Carolina, Wichita State, Florida and Indiana, that reached the 2013 NCAA Tournament. The Illini will look to qualify for an NCAA Regional for the third time in four years when they begin the 2014 campaign with a three-game series at Georgia State in Atlanta, Ga., from Feb. 14-16. Illinois’ home schedule begins on March 18 against Indiana State followed by a tournament featuring Eastern Illinois and Xavier at Illinois Field from March 21-23. Continue reading

Wichita State releases 2014 Schedule

WichitaStateLogo_thumb.jpgWICHITA, Kan. – The 2014 Wichita State baseball schedule features 16 games against 2013 NCAA Tournament teams along with 30 home games, head coach Todd Butler announced Jan. 9.
“We are playing an outstanding non-conference schedule,” Butler said. “The conference alone is going to be tough and I’m excited about it. We will continue to play the best non-conference schedule we can play. I also think it’s great that we are playing Missouri at Kauffman Stadium. I think it will be great for both fan bases, it will be fun for our players and we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the national championship team.” Continue reading

Florida International releases 2014 Schedule

MarkMachtolfGonzaga_thumb.jpgSPOKANE, Wash. – Head Coach Mark Machtolf announced the 2014 Gonzaga University baseball schedule Wednesday. The Bulldogs are set to play 53-games under the 11th year skipper, highlighted by 19 contests at the Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field.

The defending West Coast Conference champions will play its first 24 games on the road before the home opener, Mar. 28, against league foe Loyola Marymount University. Continue reading

Missouri releases 2014 Schedule

The slate features an exciting conference schedule and a competitive non-conference that includes a pair of tournaments to open the season. Mizzou is looking to rebound from an 18-32 season that saw it finish 12th in the Southeastern Conference in its first season as a member of the best baseball league in America. Mizzou will also resume playing at Kaufman Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Royals, as it will face off against Missouri Valley power Wichita State in a mid-week showdown on April 22.
