OMAHA, Neb. – Indiana’s left-handed pitcher Joey DeNato led the Hoosiers to a 2-0 shutout victory Saturday night over the Louisville Cardinals in the opening round of the College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park.

North Carolina is the No.1 seeded team in the tournament and has shown the guts in the NCAA Tourney to pull out a victory. game after game why they are the best. The Tar Heels knocked off the Gamecocks with a 5-4 win to advance to the schools tenth appearance in the CWS. With this being their tenth visit to Omaha, the school is still in search of its first title and the ACC’s first since 1955 when Wake Forest brought home the title. Ace pitcher Kent Emanuel has an ERA of 2.93 with 89 strikeouts and was drafted in the third round 74th overall by the Astros, all of these making him a key player to watch throughout the College World Series. Other key notables include Cody Stubbs averaging a team high .366 with eight homeruns and 76 RBIs, and Skye Bolt averaging .330 with 50 RBIs and six homeruns. Last Colin Moran will be the biggest factor of the hitters with his.343 batting average, team high 88 RBIs, and also team high 13 homeruns. Moran was drafted in the first round 6th overall by the Miami Marlins. Mississippi State is coming off a super-regional victory over Virginia, wining 6-5 after an 18-hour rain delay. This is a heavily offense based team accumulating 30 hits over a two game span against Virginia. This will be the ninth appearance in the College World Series for the Bulldogs and first since 2007. A few notable players to keep an eye on include Wes Rea who is hitting .288 along with 37 RBIs and seven home runs, and Hunter Renfroe batting .360 with 61 RBIs and 15 homeruns, along with being drafted 13th overall in the MLB draft. Adam Frazier will also be one to keep an eye on with his .359 batting average and 38 RBIs. Mississippi State will face No.3 Oregon State in game one on Saturday with the winner advancing to take on the winner of Indiana vs. Louisville. They have shown that they can get a lead and hold on to it despite late comebacks. This may be a key factor for Mississippi State, if they can get out early then this team will be hard to beat. OMAHA—The game times and pairings for the first two days of the Men’s College World Series have been announced. The 67th MCWS will take place at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha from June 15-25/26.
The first game on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. (CT), No. 3 national seed Oregon State (49-11)/Kansas State (45-18) Super Regional winner against Mississippi State (48-18). CORVALLIS, Ore. – Michael Conforto and Dylan Davis had done it before, but that was more than two years ago when they were high school seniors at Redmond (Wash.) High.
This time, it was a much bigger stage – with the bright TV lights of ESPN in the first inning of the second game of the Corvallis Super Regional – and the best friends ignited a hitting display of awe-inspiring proportions, belting back-to-back two-out home runs to right center field. 2013 NCAA DIVISION I BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET ANNOUNCED
INDIANAPOLIS – The field of 64 teams competing for the 2013 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship was announced today by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee.
