SEC Weekend Preview (April 29th-May 1st)

The SEC enters the seventh weekend of play with Vanderbilt, Florida, and South Carolina in a three way tie in the Eastern Division with 14-4 conference records. Georgia is fourth at 11-7 while Tennessee (5-13) and Kentucky (4-15) round out the division. The SEC Western Division is also muddled with a three way tie between Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Auburn who each have identical 9-9 records. Conference USA Weekend Preview (April 29th-May 1st)

With conference-play half way done, the teams of Conference USA hope to finish the month of April strong and prepare themselves for the long home-stretch leading up to the CUSA Tournament in Pearl, MS at the end of May. As it stands, the Golden Eagles currently sit alone atop the standings with a 9-3 record, while Rice sits right behind at 9-6. Meanwhile, Memphis and Houston are tied for third with 7-5 records with UAB and ECU tied at 8-7. Nationally, the Pirates crack the Top 30 this week coming in at #29, while Rice—following their series loss to UAB—drops from #19 to #22, and USM jumps to #20. Big East Weekend Preview (April 29th-May 1)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Less than half of the BIG EAST baseball season remains and Connecticut holds a two-game lead on first place. The Huskies enter the weekend with a 12-game winning streak, the longest current streak in the nation. Pittsburgh is in second place, a half-game ahead of St. John’s. The Red Storm and Panthers will battle in Pittsburgh this weekend. Last weekend, three BIG EAST pitchers tossed complete-game shutouts including St. John’s Kyle Hansen (vs. Notre Dame), Connecticut’s Matt Barnes (vs. Georgetown) and Pittsburgh’s Matt Iannazzo (vs. Rutgers). Missouri Valley Conference Weekend Preview (April 29th-May 1)

ACC Weekend Preview (April 22nd-24th)

The ACC enters the seventh weekend of conference play with the Florida State Seminoles continuing to lead the ACC Atlantic Division with a record of 11-7. Clemson is second at 9-9 while NC State is one game behind the Tigers at 8-10. Boston College is fourth at 6-11 with Wake Forest (6-12) and Maryland (4-14) rounding out the division. The SEC kicks off the second half of the season with the marquee matchup taking place in Nashville between the LSU Tigers and the Vanderbilt Commodores in the only series featuring ranked teams. South Carolina heads on the road to Mississippi State, Florida hosts Alabama, Arkansas goes to Kentucky, and Georgia heads to Tennessee. Conference USA Weekend Preview (April 22nd-24th)

Things still remain knotted amongst four teams at the top of the CUSA standings. Heading into the mid-point of conference play, Memphis, Southern Miss, Rice and Houston all share first place with winning percentages of .667. Nationally, Rice cracks the top 20 for the second time this season, moving back into the #19 spot it held the week of March 7th while USM drops one spot to #24 after sweeping New Orleans. Missouri Valley Conference Weekend Preview (April 22nd-24th)

This weekend’s Missouri Valley Conference action promises plenty of exciting baseball—and even a little history in the making—as four of the top five teams get set to play each other Friday night. Illinois State (24-10, 4-2) travels to Wichita State (23-17, 3-3) in a highly-anticipated rematch of last year’s MVC State Farm Tournament Championship, while #29 Creighton (26-8, 5-1)—who crack the Top 30 for the first time this season—will host Southern Illinois (13-23, 4-2) in the first ever series at the brand new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. Elsewhere in conference play, Evansville (20-14, 1-5) will look to right its season against a struggling Bradley (19-15, 1-5) in Peoria, while Missouri State (21-14, 4-2) hopes to build off of last week’s series victory over SIU in a three-game set at home against Indiana State (19-16, 2-4).
