2011 CBD Season Preview: Big South

The Big South was dominated last year by the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers as they went a perfect 25-0 on their way to the conference regular season title. The Liberty Flames came in second with a 19-8 conference mark. Radford finished in third place with a 15-11 record in the conference only a ½ game ahead of High Point for third place. VMI and Winthrop tied for fifth place with a 13-14 record while Gardner-Webb and UNC-Asheville tied for seventh with a 10-17 mark. Presbyterian College finished in ninth place with a 7-20 record while Charleston Southern rounded out of the conference with a 6-20 record. Continue reading 2011 CBD Season Preview: Big South

2011 CBD Season Preview: Atlantic Sun

The 2010 Atlantic Sun regular season saw Florida Gulf Coast dominate the conference with a 25-5 conference mark as second place Mercer finished six games back with a 16-11 record. East Tennessee State finished a game behind the Bears with a 15-12 record. North Florida and Jacksonville finished tied for fourth place with a 14-12 record. Stetson rounded out the qualifiers for the Atlantic Sun postseason tournament with a 14-13 record. Belmont at 13-13, Kennesaw State at 12-15, Lipscomb at 9-17, and Campbell at 8-19 were on the outside looking in at the postseason tournament while USC-Upstate went 8-19 as they were not eligible for the A-Sun tournament as they are undergoing an NCAA Reclassifying period. 2011 CBD Season Preview: ACC Atlantic Division

College Baseball Daily kicks off our 2011 Season Previews today with the ACC Atlantic Division. Last season, saw both Clemson and Florida State make the College World Series. The Clemson Tigers ended up tying with the Florida State Seminoles in the Division with identical 18-12 records. Clemson ended up being named the champion by sweeping the Seminoles in the final series of the season. NC State edged Boston College for the third spot with a 15-15 conference mark while the Eagles finished 14-16.
