2011 Southern Conference Preseason Poll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference baseball coaches and media have each selected College of Charleston as the preseason favorite to win the league championship in 2011.

The Cougars received all 10 possible first-place votes and 100 points in the coaches’ balloting, as coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams. CofC also grabbed 19 of 22 first-place votes and 239 points in the media poll. Coach Monte Lee’s team returns six of nine starters in the field as well as a pair of weekend starting pitchers from the 2010 team that was 44-19 overall and finished second in the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional. 2011 Horizon League Preseason Poll

2011 MAC Preseason Coaches Poll

Cleveland, Ohio – Defending MAC Tournament Champion Kent State and defending MAC Regular Season Champion Central Michigan have been chosen by the league’s head coaches to win their respective divisions, released today by the league office. 2011 America East Preseason Coaches Poll

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.— The Stony Brook Seawolves are the unanimous picks to win the 2011 America East Baseball Championship according to the preseason coaches’ poll and as voted on by all six of the league’s head coaches. After winning their second tournament title in three years in 2010, the Seawolves received all five possible first-place votes as head coaches were not permitted to vote for their own teams. 2011 Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Poll and Team

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – A season after claiming the 2010 OVC Tournament Championship, Jacksonville State has been tabbed the 2011 preseason favorite for the nine-team league in a vote of Ohio Valley Conference head baseball coaches. In additional voting Tennessee Tech senior All-American outfielder Chad Oberacker was named OVC Preseason Player of the Year while Eastern Illinois junior hurler Mike Hoekstra was tabbed OVC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. 2011 MEAC Preseason Poll

2011 MAAC Preseason Baseball Poll

Edison, N.J. – Rider University has been chosen as the favorite to win the 2011 MAAC Baseball Championship, according to a preseason poll voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Rider, the defending MAAC Champion, finished with 73 points in the poll, while Marist College finished second (67).  Canisius College placed third with 65 points.  Manhattan College placed fourth (56), followed by Siena College (51), Niagara University (28), Fairfield University (27), Saint Peter’s College (20), and Iona College (18). 2011 WAC Preseason Poll

DENVER – Fresno State has been selected as the favorite to win the 2011 Western Athletic Conference regular season baseball crown in a vote by the league’s seven head coaches. The coaches also voted on a preseason all-WAC team with Fresno State leading the way as it placed seven players on the team. Hawai‘i junior second baseman Kolten Wong was named the preseason player of the year, while San Jose State senior Blake McFarland was picked the preseason pitcher of the year. 2011 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS – Illinois State, which returns a dominating young pitching staff and solid depth from last year’s State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship squad, has been tabbed as the league favorite in the annual coaches’ preseason poll, receiving four of eight first-place votes.

2011 Pac-10 Baseball Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – In a polling of the Conference’s baseball coaches, NCAA runner-up UCLA has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the Pac-10 title in 2011.
