NCBWA May 23 Division I Poll

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 14th year with its 2011 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 21-June 28 following the 65th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at the new TD Ameritade Stadium.

2011 CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 23rd)

The team that started the season on the top finishes the regular season on top.

CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 16th)

TCU (36-15) is back at #1 after a 3-1 week. TCU picked up a mid week win over Baylor and won 2 of 3 from a solid Utah club. TCU also clinched its 6th strait MWC regular season title. Read the rest of this entry »

CBD Mid-Major Poll (May 9th)

Top 3 clubs stay the same but after that not so.  #1 Stetson (37-10) stays in the top spot after sweeping ASUN series at FGCU…….. #2 TCU (33-14) also stays put taking 2 of 3 at Oklahoma St.  In Sunday’s rubber match Ok St tied game with a run in btm 9th but TCU’s Zac Jordan hit a 2 out HR in top of 10th for a 8-7 win……… #3 Fresno St (33-10) went 3-2 in WAC games for the week.  Fresno St beat Hawaii on Monday and split 4 games with Louisiana Tech. CBD Mid-Major Poll (April 25th)

For the 3rd week in a row we have a new #1.  TCU (29-11) is back at #1 after a impressive 4-0 week.  The Horned Frogs picked a 4-2 mid week win over Texas A&M before sweeping a solid UNLV club in MWC play.  However they learned this week that they will be without stud lefty Matt Purke for awhile with a shoulder injury. DALLAS - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 14th year with its 2011 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 21-June 28 following the 65th annual NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at the new TD Ameritade Stadium.

To date, TCU, UCLA, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Virginia have held the No. 1 NCBWA rankings in ’11.

2011 CBD Mid-Major Poll (April 18th)

Fresno St (25-5) did not stay out of the #1 spot for very long.  Fresno St won all 3 games from Nevada this weekend to move into the top spot……..Troy (26-9) did not hold the top spot long.  Troy had a rough week this week going 1-3 and dropped to #6.  The Trojans dropped a mid week game at Jacksonville St before losing 2 of 3 at MTSU in Sunbelt play.
