Akron releases 2010 Schedule


JeffHarwell AKRON, Ohio – Head coach Pat Bangtson and the Zips have released the 2010 baseball schedule. The Zips open the season with four consecutive tournaments, traveling to Las Cruces, N.M., Wilmington N.C. and Florida for preseason competition. The 56-game schedule opens on February 19th and will run through May 22nd. The Mid-American Conference tournament is slated for May 26th through 30th.

Samford releases 2010 Schedule


MasonMeredethSamford BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Home games against SEC opponents Auburn and Alabama, and against Big 10 opponents Michigan State and Minnesota highlight Samford’s 2010 baseball schedule, released by head coach Casey Dunn on Tuesday.

“We are excited about our schedule, especially our home schedule,” Dunn said. “We were able to get Alabama and Auburn in home-and-homes again this year. We feel like it is important for our program to play the teams in our state, including UAB, Troy and Jacksonville State.”

Illinois releases 2010 Schedule


DanHartlebIllinois CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – University of Illinois coach Dan Hartleb announced his team’s schedule for the 2010 season Tuesday, with the team slated to play in the second-annual Big Ten/BIG EAST Challenge on Feb. 26-28, and tournaments at 2009 NCAA Tournament qualifiers East Carolina and Coastal Carolina early in the season. The Illini will face six NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago in 2010 – East Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Missouri, Dartmouth, Indiana and Ohio State.

St. Louis releases 2010 Schedule


ZachMiller ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head baseball coach Darin Hendrickson today announced the Billikens’ 2010 schedule. The slate features a non-conference schedule that includes perennial baseball powers Ohio State, Kansas, Mississippi and Arkansas. In addition, SLU will play a number of regional rivals and a 27-game Atlantic 10 Conference schedule.

"Our schedule features a good balance, which includes top-notch programs from the SEC including College World Series participant Arkansas and super-regional participant Ole Miss," third-year head coach Darin Hendrickson said. "We have also scheduled Midwest powers Kansas, Missouri State, Eastern Illinois and a very good Murray State team. We are also excited about the challenge that awaits us in the A-10. The league’s rotating schedule puts us on the road at three of the top teams in our league while we host last year’s regular-season champion Dayton and tournament champion Xavier. We feel our league has improved, and many teams are scheduling accordingly. This schedule will undoubtedly have us ready for an exciting 2010 season."

Binghamton releases 2010 Schedule


TimSinicki2 VESTAL, N.Y.– For the first time in program history, Binghamton University baseball will face the defending national champions. Eighteenth-year head coach Tim Sinicki’s Bearcats will face reigning NCAA champion LSU in a single game in Baton Rouge on March 31. But BU will open its 2010 season one month earlier with a three-game series at Longwood (Va.) on February 27-28.

Fordham releases 2010 Schedule


Fordham2010Schedule Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham baseball head coach Nick Restaino announced the team’s 2010 schedule today, as the Rams will begin play on February 19th in Virginia.

Except for 1944, the Fordham baseball program has played every year since 1859 and stands as the winningest program in NCAA history. The Rams will be competing for their fifth Atlantic 10 Championship tournament berth in the last seven years, in hopes of being at the 2010 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will take place May 26-29 at Campbell’s Field in Camden, New Jersey.

Northwestern releases 2010 Schedule


JoeMuraskiNorthwestern EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern head coach Paul Stevens today (Dec. 7) announced the Wildcats’ 2010 schedule, featuring a doubleheader against the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

After playing games at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome (Minnesota Twins) and U.S. Cellular Field (Chicago White Sox) last season, the Wildcats can add a visit to another Major League ballpark to their resume. The twinbill against UWM will be played April 28 following a 12:10 p.m. game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Announced today by head coach Tim Esmay, the 2010 schedule features 35 games at Packard Stadium, including two non-conference match-ups with in-state rival Arizona on April 20 and May 4.
