The West Coast Conference Championship Series between Gonzaga and Loyola Marymount begins tonight, and the conference will be offering live free video streaming through the WCC website. To access the video player click here. Gonzaga won the WCC regular season with a 14-7 record, and Loyola Marymount finished second with a 13-8 record in league play. The South Florida Bulls and UConn Huskies were set to face off in a winner’s bracket game today at the Big East Tournament at 4pm. The game would be eventually be postponed by that didn’t mean that players couldn’t have some fun. OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — The No. 5 Texas Longhorns turned a complete-game effort by Chance Ruffin into a 9-3 win over Kansas Jayhawks in round robin action at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark on Thursday afternoon.
With the win, Texas moved to 1-1 in round robin action and Kansas fell to 0-2. Texas needs a win by Kansas State over Baylor on Thursday evening and a UT win over Kansas State on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s title game.
Ryan Collins helped stave off a Northwestern State rally to keep the Lions alive on Thursday.
Southeastern Louisiana 9 Northwestern State 7
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Lions jumped out to a big lead with seven runs in the first two innings, but it was the bullpen that came up big on Thursday for the Southeastern Louisiana baseball team (36-21, 22-13 Southland Conference) as the Lions held off a rally by the Northwestern State Demons (26-26, 18-15 SLC) to advance to day three of the 2009 Southland Conference Baseball Tournament with a 9-7 win on Wednesday morning.

HOOVER, Ala. — Mike Minor pitched his second complete game victory in three games to lead Vanderbilt to a 4-1 win over No. 2 LSU Wednesday night in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference tournament at Regions Park.
Minor (6-4), pitching on four days rest, scattered six hits over nine innings and allowed just one run while striking out five and walking three. Continue reading
