NCBWA May 5 Division I Poll

DALLAS – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 11th year with its 2008 weekly surveys. Polls will be circulated from Feb. 25-June 30 following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The poll voters come from 30 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. This week’s poll has representation by 11 different conferences among the 297 baseball-playing schools in the 2008 NCAA Division I ranks, and 16 total leagues have had teams in the Top 30 in ’08. 5/1 – D-III NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Concordia’s Rotzoll, Hamline’s Roiger Get 8th D-III Honors

It was a week of “R & R” as catcher J.D. Rotzoll of Concordia University (Ill.) and southpaw Josh Roiger of Hamline University earned the NCAA Division III National Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards for the week of April 21-27, 2008, the eighth of the season, as chosen by members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
