Game 1: #3 Southern Miss 17, #2 Elon 15
Senior second baseman Bennett Davis’ three home runs were not enough for Elon in a 17-15 loss to the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss.
The two teams combined for 71 total bases, the 4th highest ever total in an NCAA regional game. The slugfest also featured 11 home runs and 34 hits.
Bo Davis, senior right fielder for Southern Miss, hit his second home run of the game in the 9th inning to put the Golden Eagles ahead for good. ATLANTA — Georgia Tech junior first baseman Tony Plagman went 5-for-5 with 4 runs and 3 RBIs to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 12-3 victory over the Florida State Seminoles in game 1 of a crucial ACC series.
ATLANTA – Junior RHP Alex White of the 6th ranked North Carolina Tar Heels threw 120 pitches, giving up just 4 hits and 2 earned runs in 8 innings in a 4-2 victory at the 3rd ranked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
CARY, NC — The #2 national seed North Carolina Tar Heels (49-12, 22-7 ACC) host the Big South champion Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (50-12, 17-3 Big South) at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary. Both teams went 3-0 in their regionals last weekend with UNC defeating Mount St. Mary’s and UNC-Wilmington and Coastal Carolina defeating Columbia, Alabama and East Carolina.
ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia defeated Lipscomb 14-3 and Georgia Tech 8-0 to force a game 7 in the Athens regional Monday.
ATHENS, Ga. — The Bisons of Lipscomb University were the story of the day, as the 151st ranked team in the RPI defeated the national #8 seed Georgia 10-7 at Foley Field. The win marked the first NCAA tournament victory for Lipscomb University in any sport.

ATHENS, Ga. — Freshman Deck McGuire pitched 7 strong innings for the Yellow Jackets, giving up just 1 run on 4 hits while striking out 9, to help Georgia Tech (34-14) to an 11-1 road victory over in-state rival Georgia (31-16-1). McGuire improved his record to 8-0 on the season as the Yellow Jackets remain undefeated in midweek games.
ATLANTA, Ga. — Despite having the week off for final exams, the Yellow Jackets (32-13) were able to continue their hot hitting in a 10-6 victory over Coastal Carolina (36-10). Thomas Nichols, Charlie Blackmon, Jeff Rowland, and Jason Haniger each hit a home run off Coastal Carolina starter Bobby Gagg. Haniger, who led the team with 3 RBI, later hit a clutch 8th inning 2-run single to seal the victory for Georgia Tech.
