2014 Top 100 Players Countdown: 92. Drew Smith (Dallas Baptist)

College Baseball Daily kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2014 College Baseball season by checking in on the top 100 players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.
We continue the list today at number 92 with Dallas Baptist pitcher Drew Smith. Heading into his sophomore year, Smith looks to improve on his performance from his freshman campaign. In his first season with the Patriots, Smith totaled only 11.2 IP while posting a 5.40 ERA. Continue reading

We continue the list today at number 93 with Concordia (Ore.) outfielder Blake Drake. During the Cavaliers 2013 season, Drake batted .367 overall and .360 in conference play. He also stole 20 bases good for a fourth place finish in the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Continue reading

2014 Hartford Scout Day Observations

The rain held out just long enough at Fiondella Field on Thursday, Sept. 8th for the Hawks to showcase their talent in front of Major League scouts. “It’s a great opportunity for our guys to get on the radar early”, said Head coach Justin Blood. After finishing 17-36 in the 2013 campaign, the Hawks look to up their game and get on a winning track. Continue reading

Top 5 Standouts from UConn Scout Day

UConnTeamMeetingBaseball was in the air Thursday, Sept. 5th in Storrs, CT as the 2013-2014 Huskies took the field as part of their annual scout day. This day allows all of the players to showcase their talents in front of Major League scouts and try to open a few eyes in the process. After going 31-27-1 last season, the Huskies hope that their talented underclass, as well as their experienced veterans will be able to pull together a championship season.   Continue reading
