The Virginia baseball team has been picked as the 2015 ACC favorite for the second straight year by the leagues 14 Head Coaches. The University of Virginia, preseason ranked nationally at number 2, has been selected as the 2015 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball preseason favorite by the leagues 14 head coaches. Virginia, for the second year in a row has been slated as the team to beat in the ACC with 10 first-place votes followed by Florida State with 4 first-place votes. In a conference that hosts 5 of the top 25 teams in the nation one thing is for sure and that is competitive baseball in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Raleigh, North Carolina. – No. 22 Virginia Tech Hokies (20-9, 7-5 ACC) head north to face No. 25 North Carolina State Wolfpack (21-10, 5-7 ACC) in a three-game conference series beginning Friday, April 5 at Doak Field in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Friday will mark the 172st time these two teams have played each other since 1907. Tech has a dominating record all time against the Pack, winning 105 of the 171 games played between the two teams. This series features two of the more even keeled teams in the ACC, both of which have not played the No. 1 ranked team in the country in The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Harvard vs. Boston College
Three Boston College players, Tom Bourdon, Stephen Sauter, and Jimmy Dowdell – all had multiple hits as BC defeated Harvard 8-6 Monday afternoon. Five Eagle pitchers – Matt Alvarez, Austin Solecitto, John Nicklas, Nate Bayuk, and Nick Poore combined to strike out eight, walk six and give up six runs in the 8-6 victory over Harvard.
