Jake Lambert started on the mound for the Bearcats pitching a complete game shut-out allowing two hits through nine innings. Shaun McGraw (3 for 4) had a great game for the Bearcats scoring three times, along with Brian Ruby (1 for 2) scored twice and picking up two RBIs. Other notable hitters include Zach Blanden (1 for 4) picking up one RBI, David Schanz (0 for 4) picking up an RBI, Daniel Nevares (1 for 5) scoring once and picking up an RBI, Jake Thomas (0 for 4) scoring one run, Nick Pancerella (0 for 2) picking up an RBI, and last John Howell (0 for 4) and Bill Bereszniewicz (0 for 2) scored once each. Lowell, MA– (1)Maine defeated (4)Stony Brook 7-0 in game 1 of the the America East championship. Tommy Lawrence was on the hill for the Black Bears and pitched a complete game shut-out giving up only two hits throughout the game. Eric White (2 for 4) was great for Maine scoring twice and picking up four RBIs to go along with his homerun in the fifth inning. Other standouts include Alex Calbick (2 for 3) who picked up one RBI and scored twice, Troy Black (2 for 4) scored twice, Michael Fransoso (2 for 4) scored once, and Scott Heath (2 for 2) who picked up two RBIs. Manchester, NH—(1)Wilmington (Del.) eliminated (4)Southern New Hampshire University with a 2-1 win in the first game of the fourth and final day at the D-2 NE Regional. Rob Gore started on the hill for the Wildcats giving up one hit and no runs through his six innings of work before being relieved by Jarrett Shaffer who also gave up one hit and no runs in the seventh inning. Tyler Fries came into the game for the Wildcats to start the eighth inning not giving up any runs or hits. Nick Marics finished the game allowing a Homerun in the ninth inning that tied it up, but finished strong not giving up any more hit or runs. Josh Hampton (1 for 5) played well for Wilmington hitting the game winning homerun in the tenth inning and scoring both of the team’s runs, as well as with Sam Giones (2 for 4) who picked up an RBI. Manchester, NH— (6)Franklin Pierce eliminated (5)Pace with their 8-1 win in the first game of day three at the D-2 NE Regional. Kevin McGowan had one of the best performances of the weekend on the mound throwing 120 pitches while only giving up nine hits, and one run through nine innings. Matthew O’Herron (4 for 4) had a great day for the Ravens scoring twice and picking up one RBI. Dan Kemp (1 for 3), and Matt Walsh (1 for 4) each scored once with Kemp driving in two runs and Walsh picking up an RBI as well.
Neil Pezzullo started the game on the mound for the Setters giving up two hits and four runs through two and two thirds innings before Josh Garran came in only to give up six hits and three runs through his three innings of play. Robert Rizzitelli relieved Garran allowing two hits and one run through one and one third innings with Josh Grant relieving him to finish the game for the Setters on the mound, giving up one hit and no runs in the ninth inning. Brandon Martineson (3 for 4), and Charlie Galasso (2 for 4) swung the bat well for the Setters with Martineson picking up an RBI, and Galasso scoring Pace’s only run in the eighth inning.

Ray Gambone led Wilmington on the mound tallying five strikeouts and allowing two hits through eight innings. Jarrett Shaffer pitched the ninth allowing two hits, and one run to end the game for the Wildcats. Matt Lopes had an outstanding day at the plate going 4 for 4 with two RBIs and scoring twice himself, also Frank Samluk (2 of 3), and Jon Castro (1 of 3) both recorded one RBI and scored a run. Manchester, NH—Trevor Graham allowed three hits as sixth seeded Franklin Pierce defeated top seed Wilmington (Del.) 7-0 in the opening game of the D-2 Northeast Regional. Dan Kemp went two for three at the plate with two RBI and scoring a run, along with Calvin Graves who had a good day scoring three run. Defense played a key role in the win for Franklin Pierce with an all-around great team performance shutting out the Wildcats. Continue reading
