WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Wake Forest head coach Tom Walter announced the 2019 baseball schedule, featuring 27 games at David F. Couch Ballpark, plus a three-game series at area Minor League Baseball ballparks.

The Demon Deacons open the season with a home tournament Feb. 15-17, featuring Sacred Heart, Illinois and Georgetown.

The non-conference slate is headlined by a three-game series against Furman (March 1-3) with Friday’s game taking place at BB&T Ballpark in Winston-Salem, home of the Dash. Saturday’s game is at the Charlotte Knights’ home, also named BB&T Ballpark, while Sunday’s will occur at Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive in South Carolina.

Wake Forest will compete in an always-challenging ACC schedule as well, featuring 30 total league games.

“We can’t wait to get back onto the field and start the 2019 season,” head coach Tom Walter said. “Per usual, we’ll be tested from start to finish in the ACC season. We’re also looking forward to giving our student-athletes the chance to compete in a variety of professional stadiums and high-intensity college atmospheres. The plan is to get back into the postseason and our regular-season schedule will prepare us well for that opportunity.”

Notre Dame (March 8-10), Boston College (March 15-17), Virginia Tech (April 5-7), NC State (April 18-20) and Miami (May 10-12) will come to Winston-Salem for three-game sets, while the Deacs will travel to Duke (March 22-24), Louisville (March 29-31), Pitt (April 12-14), Florida State (April 26-28) and Clemson (May 16-18).

Other non-conference games include two games at Coastal Carolina as well as home-and-homes with App State, Charlotte, UNCG, Liberty and High Point, and single games against Radford and Gardner-Webb. The game against Gardner-Webb will be held at Keeter Stadium in Shelby as the annual game to honor the late Jim Horn, a Shelby native and Wake Forest alumnus, who was a member of the Deacons’ 1955 NCAA Baseball Championship squad.

The 2019 ACC Baseball Championship is slated for May 21-26 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
