North Dakota State releases 2017 Schedule

NDSUBenchFARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State University head baseball coach Tod Brown on Wednesday, Oct. 19, announced the team’s 2017 schedule which includes a contest against Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium and four games in Florida.

NDSU opens Feb. 17-19 with a four-game series at Mississippi Valley State in Itta Bena, Miss., before traveling to Abilene, Texas, for a three-game set at Abilene Christian Feb. 24-26.

The Bison take on the Golden Gophers at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis Feb. 28 before going to Northern Colorado for a four-game series March 3-5.

North Dakota State heads to Winter Haven, Fla., for three games against Saint Bonaventure and a single contest against UMass March 10-14 in the RussMat Central Florida Invitational.

NDSU concludes its non-league road schedule with a game at Minnesota April 4 at the Golden Gophers’ Siebert Field.

The double round-robin Summit League schedule begins March 17, consisting of a pair of three-game series among the six Summit League teams.

The Bison will have five road and five home three-game series in league play.

NDSU plays at Oral Roberts (March 17-19), Western Illinois (March 24-26), Omaha (March 31-April 2), South Dakota State (April 28-30) and Fort Wayne (May 18-20).

The Bison will host South Dakota State (April 7-9), Fort Wayne (April 14-16), Omaha (April 21-23), Oral Roberts (May 5-7) and Western Illinois (May 12-14) at Newman Outdoor Field.

North Dakota State’s home opener is slated for Wednesday, April 5, against Minot State.

NDSU will also host non-league games against Minnesota (April 11), Dakota Wesleyan (April 18), Mayville State (April 19), Dakota State (April 26) and Valley City State (May 2).

The top four teams from the regular season will advance to The Summit League championship May 24-27 in Tulsa, Okla. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will earn the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA tournament.

North Dakota State finished with an overall record of 29-25 and won a program-record 17 home games at Newman Outdoor Field last season.
