The Miami Hurricanes baseball program today dismissed pitcher Derik Beauprez from the program while shortstop Brandon Lopez and outfielder Brandon Smith have been suspended according to a report from the Miami Herald.
Beauprez was a 6’5 righty out of Colorado who was selected in the 25th round out of high school and was expected to give depth to the Canes pitching staff.
Lopez, a senior has had problems staying on the field at Miami as this is his third suspension to start a season in his career and was expected to be the everyday player for the Canes.
